Personal Log:- Commander Melody Jones

The Merlin is now en route to sector 715 for a routine patrol as well as exploration and planetary survey mission. To be honest, it seems like a long time since we undertook a purely scientific and research mission It will be a welcome change from going head to head with Borg cubes.

The ship underwent a significant repair and upgrade while it was docked at Starbase and that's not all that happened. The crew enjoyed some welcome RnR on Risa and Draxx suddenly decided it was time that we got married. It was a surprise, but a welcome one. Sansa is overjoyed at having her father this close. Sansa also started a .... relationship with our chief security officer. while I'm still not one hundred percent sure about this myself I've decided to give her my blessing. Sansa has lost a lot of time as it is so if this makes her happy, who am I to stand in her way?

I'm still not sure what Draxx will make to all this, but we'll find out soon enough.

I've scheduled a meeting with our Strategic Operations officer to go over any concerns he has over the area of space we will be entering.

I've also decided to contact my old academy friend Amelia Fox. She is currently serving on the USS Andromeda which is exploring beyond the Briar patch. It will be good to catch up with her. I've only heard of the Captain of the Andromeda by reputation but it's all good things. However, Caroline has mentioned he's her counseling mentor's twin brother and quite dishy.

This will be my first full mission as the commanding officer of the Merlin. I'm hoping it will go smoothly, but swerving in Starfleet has taught me that nothing ever goes the way go expect.

I've been to see our chief engineer before we left spacedock this morning. She seems to be on top of integrating the new systems and has already drawn up a list of things she wants to check during this mission.

Orders from on high also state that the entire crew must have a complete medical and psychological review. I'll be going to see Doctor Ki later today.
