Personal Log :: SD 239402.05 - 00:12 hrs ...

I'm late getting this log down, but at least I don't have any bad news to enter .....

The Merlin's Exec accompanied me on what can only be described as a 'rescue mission' to ensure the safety and well being of a longtime family friend. But, despite my constant misgivings that everything went 'too' easily, it didn't go without complications. During our escape, we were pursued by two vessels, both heavier-armed and with much more to loose than our shuttle. Commander Jones used her exceptional skills to destroy one of the pursuers and temporarily disable the second, but in the course of her actions she sustained what could have been life-threatening injuries.

I managed to gain the upper hand, and while I am saddened at the loss of life involved, I do feel that we, no, I, was asked to do something and did so to the best of my abilities. I have no doubt in my mind that had the second vessel regained control of her systems before we did I would not be sat here in the dark recording this log !

Commander Jones is still in Sick-bay undergoing treatment for her injuries, but the prognosis is that she will be released within a day or two fully fit and able to return to duty. I have yet to speak with the Captain about our 'activities' and can only assume he will be interested in hearing our accounts.

As for Stephanie, the girl I was tasked with rescuing: Yes, we took her before her prospective abductor could take possession, and it has been confirmed that he in fact perished in the destruction of the vessel Commander Jones destroyed, not that I doubt anyone will be mourning for the man.

I went to see Commander Jones earlier and thankfully she is going to make a full recovery with no side effects from her electrocution aboard the Shuttle Galahad. The same alas, cannot be said for the aforementioned shuttle, which will require extensive repair.

Stephanie and her parents intend to leave the Starbase in the morning and return to the Saturn Research Facility, where I believe Security has been, modified. I will accompany them to the shuttle in the morning, but for now, I am going to bed.

Additional :: I fully intend to nominate Commander Jones for a commendation for her efforts during the rescue of Stephanie Tennant !
