OK, My six year old daughter has gone off for her very first actual lesson with Commander Jones.

To say she was excited would be somewhat of an understatement. she could hardly wait to get out of our quarters after reading the communication from the Exec' ... We are taking Mia to one of the other holo-decks so she can visit one of her favourite places, Disneyland. She has talked her mother and myself into taking along two of her friends, so we are about to go pick them up. Over the last couple of days we have noticed a change in Mackenzie, not for the bad, in fact far from it.

The bookshelves in her room now contain numerous manuals as well as the normal books the average six year old keeps around. Over her bed, where Cinderella took pride of place, is now a three dimensional image of a Type nine shuttle, Cinderella having been relegated to the opposite wall. In a way is good to see her broadening her interests, not that they weren't broad already, her topics of interest were as wide ranging as they were surprising at times.

We shall have to see how she does with this new interest, though we both believe it is one she is going to be putting a lot of her time and effort into ....

As for the Merlin, there is still no definite word as to when we will be going out. The ship had been undergoing a lot of upgrades and refits which are almost complete. I will need to sit down with Kenzie and explain that Melody may not always have the free time to give her lessons. Mackenzie will understand, after all she has the same issue with me at times, that is one reason I was so happy to be able to bring my Family aboard so quickly. While I will possibly be needed on other duty shifts, I have, with the help of my Assistant, been able to stick to the Alpha Shift duties, so zero eight hundred to sixteen hundred hours, both the girls and Lana are in school then.

OK, Disneyland it is ....
