We were in our quarters getting ready to eat last night when we had a visit from Lieutenant Tillatix, or at least, I was under the impression it was the Lieutenant until once we had asked the children to go to their room for a short time, she began to explain the reason for her visit ...

Apparently, during the test flight of a shuttle-craft an accident caused the Lieutenant to swap bodies with Lieutenant Commander Jones !

To say both myself and Lana were sceptical was understandable, but Commander Jones convinced us of her predicament and I confirmed this after speaking with the Chief Medical Officer. At this stage the Medical and Science Staff are working on a possible solution to return both women to their own bodies. Her visit was to explain why Mackenzie's flight lessons would need to be put on hold for a short time, again totally understandable in the circumstances.

It was clear we would need to explain this to Kenzie, and Lana thought the best way to do so was to have them come into the living room to speak with, our guest. Their reaction was different to what both Lana and I had expected and was in fact typically 'childlike' in nature, more instant fascination than fright. both girls took the news well and became instantly sympathetic to her situation. Mia was in awe of her 'tail' which seemed to have a life of it's own at times. Commander Jones was more than willing to explain her situation to the girls in terms they could understand, even allowing them to brush and touch the tail.

Commander Jones has promised Mackenzie that her lessons will recommence once her problem has been solved, in the mean time I have decided to set up a sequence of flight simulation lessons in one of the holo-suits. There is a Junior program for flying and I think Kenzie will benefit from this in conjunction with Commander Jones' tuition ...
