ON :

David had decided that he wanted to spend a little time with Lana while the pair of them had the free time. He'd enjoyed his time in the Round Table, but had decided to go back to his quarters. Hopefully he could find someone to sit with the girls while he and his Wife had an hour alone. Entering his quarters, he was surprised to see both his Children were already in bed and fast asleep. Hardly surprising given the day they had had. He sat down next to Lana who was reading a book, something she enjoyed.

"Is there someone we could get to watch the girls while we have a little time to ourselves ?" he asked.

"We're having some time together right now." Lana pointed out, putting her book down and moving close to him, "Besides, what exactly did you have in mind ?" she asked.

"Well, there's a program I want to run, there's not going to be anyone using the holodeck at this time, or at least not all of them, any chance Carmen might come over for an hour ?" Lana got up and went to the desk, contacting one of her Assistant Teachers, Carmen Valente. She agreed to come over and arrived ten minutes later. David had been into the Kitchen area and packed a small hamper-like basket, then they both left and entered the turbo-lift ...

=== Holodeck Two ===

David entered the program information and waited for the computer to confirm the program was initiated and they were free to enter ... He asked her to take off her shoes, 'a somewhat odd request' she thought, but seeing him doing it she followed suit and waited. As the doors opened Lana gave an almost inaudible sigh, she recognised the location immediately, her heart warming at the fact that her Husband would have thought of such an idyllic place for them to spend some quality time together. despite all their assurances, they had never managed to return to the place they spent their honeymoon. Myanmar was her all-time favourite place to be, despite visiting numerous other worlds, it all came back to Myanmar each time ... They had visited several cities, including Yangan, with it's Victorian Buildings and tree-lined streets,so 'old world' as she called it. Mandaley, Pindaya where they marvelled at the eight thousand images of Buddha, and Kalaw, where they trekked down to Inla Lake.

But her most favourite place of all was Ngwe Saung Beach ... It was a gorgeous, bustling place during the day, but exclusively reserved for those wanting something special in the evenings, and Sunset was something to behold !

She tightened her grip on his arm as they walked through the trees, the warmth of the golden sand oozing between their toes. As they stepped onto the open beach, where two chairs and a small wooden table were set up, David placed the basket on the sand and pulled out her chair.

"David, this is ...." she couldn't finish the sentence as he moved the chair in slightly as she lowered herself into it. He picked up the basket and opened it, placing a single tall flute holding a red rose in the middle of the table, then he took out something for them to snack on as Lana watched the slowly setting Sun. He took out two glasses and a heavy-looking bottle, she could see it was champagne. Smiling she reached out and touched his hand for a second then allowed him to pour out the sparkling wine. he handed her one of the glasses and took up the other himself before sitting into the remaining chair. She noticed the label, her eyes widening for a split-second:

"You didn't replicate this, did you ?" she said.

"No, it's the real thing. I had planned on keeping it until we got home from our first real outing as a Family, but tonight just made me think of us, the Children, how far we've come in such a short time, and well ...." he shrugged.

The Sun was now seemingly resting on the horizon as they talked quietly. The beach, there's for the night, was warm, and almost silent but for the indigenous wildlife that appeared to live out their lives in the relative darkness, though it was never truly dark here at all as with the setting of the Sun, the Moon would appear, making her way sedately across the night sky. There was only seconds left now and she reached over taking David's hand in hers. The last time they had sat here was on the very last night of the Honeymoon. Both had reserved the last night to witness what they had described as nothing less than an 'Breathtaking spectacle of beauty' ...

As the last rays from the setting Sun lanced across the almost still waters of the Bay of Bengal and he felt her grip tighten by the smallest amount.

"Thank you." she whispered. He leaned forward and kissed the back of her hand. He could see a single tear in her eye, falling as she blinked to run down her cheek. Placing his glass on the table he wiped the tear away. He knew with all his heart that they would return to this beach, or rather the genuine one, again one day, but for now, he had everything he could ever want ......
