<< Student Dorms, First Year Alien Dorm B, Room 731 SD 65322.86 >>

Sav and Kachiko were at the door to Sav's quarters.

Sav nodded in assurance to Kachiko, "Muster at 0700, got it." She noticed the communal Shower/Locker area two doors down. In counting the doors and placement of the Shower area, she realized the arrangement was 9 rooms to each shower area on her side, with the Shower being room '35'. She asked Kachiko, "Umm, in the communal shower room... are there sonic showers? Faster for me with my Furr."

"Every Berthing Space has access to sonic shower, water showers and water baths," Kachiko smiled with amusement. "You're probably the only person I have met who actually preferred the Sonic option."

Sav smiled and nodded to Kachiko, inwardly breathing a sigh of relief. Due to the nature of Sonics, the space would be fully enclosed and a nicely placed towel and/or robe or two could provide her with her much desired privacy. What Sav did not know was as this was the 'alien' dorm, and conventions differed among different races, every shower had a privacy screen if desired, same with the bathroom stalls.

Sav asked, "Did you want to come in, or do you need to head on out?"

Kachiko sighed and shook her head, "I will come in, but I cannot stay for too long. I have to go back and check in on the investigation with the Vice Admiral in two hours."

Sav opened the door and went inside, turning to wait for Kachiko to enter. However, someone else came in first.

"'Scuse me," M'Katerina said as she squeezed passed Kachiko, not really paying attention to who she was squeezing past, and stepped into the room, carrying a "doggie bag" from the chow hall. She stopped and looked at her new roommate. She had never met a Mephetian before and was a bit taken aback by the girl's appearance. She managed to recover her manners, quickly, and held out the "doggie bag". "Welcome to the zoo," she said with a toothy grin. "I'm M'Katerina but my friends call me Rina."

Sav watched in fascination at the expression changes of the felinoid in front of her as she got a good look at the 'skunkette' before her. Her own expression went to surreal wonder at the out thrust food bag in her new roomie's hand. Before she could say, anything, though, her advisor joined the fray.

Kachiko stepped to the side to allow the Caitian to pass, before following the taller and solidly built felinoid inside. "The Zoo, Cadet? What does that make me, the Zookeeper?"

If Rina could blush she would have. She realized who was behind her and whirled around. Not really knowing what to do with the "doggie bag" she dropped it on her bed, took a step backward and out of the way...almost tripping over her own tail...and stood at attention. "Ma'am, yes Ma'am....I mean no Ma'am," she stammered.

Sav brought a hand up to her muzzle to help stifle her giggle. A small 'hmmf' still escaped. However, in keeping with the banter, Sav churred and spoke, out, "That would be Esteemed ZooKeeper Captain Bayushi, Ma'am, seeing as we have a 'Lioness' and a 'Skunkette' in the Zoo."

"Well, this is certainly the nicest assignment I've ever had," Kachiko smiled. "I appreciate getting to work with interesting young people like yourselves. I only wish my Academy days were quite as pleasant."

Sav churred gently, a sad moment passing across her face at those last words by Kachiko. She stuck out her hand towards Rina as her tail shook once, and said, "Cadet Save'ena Tillatix, at your service. Please, call me Sav."

"Well," Kachiko spoke up. "I will let you two get to know one another. I should head back to speak with the Vice Admiral."

With Bayushi out of the room, Rina relaxed and picked up the doggie bag off of her bed, holding it out with one hand and shaking Sav's hand with the other. "Hungry? I couldn't eat all of mine. They serve really good food here," she said with another toothy grin. Then she nodded towards the door. "Don't let her scare you. Her bark is worse than her bite," she said and leaned closer. "Don't tell her I said that, though," she said and laughed.

Sav churred as she shook hands with Rina. She replied, "Nope, not hungry. Captain Bayushi took me on a tour, fed me at the Student Mess, and even had me meet a friend who was interested in checking out the first Mephetian Cadet." She grinned, replying, "Yeah, and, I know, and I won't." Sav looked about at the four bunks, two on one side, two on the other. Her ears focused on Rina, and then Sav said in rapid fire, "So, just us for right now? I like top bunks, which bunk are you thinking of being yours? If a bottom, can I sleep in the top over you?"

"I'm a restless sleeper so you can definitely take the top bunk," Rina said and plopped down on the bottom, bouncing to test out the mattress.

A louder churr sounded from Sav as she shifted and jumped up into her bunk in a shift of her body. Mephetians were adapted to the 'tree road', and so did not need to gather themselves to jump as they had developed musculature to stay balanced and leap across distances between branches. Sav now laid down upon her mattress, then peaked over the edge at Rina. She grinned, "Thank you. I'm... from a rather sociable race, and it helps if I sleep near another. Thanks for letting me sleep above you."

Rina got up and walked over to her containers. She started pulling clothes out and shaking out the wrinkles. "I don't know if Bayushi told you but we are only allowed three civvy outfits in our lockers. If you brought any more they will have to go down to storage. And the way you have to display your locker is on page three of your welcome packet."

Sav watched Rina unpack for a little bit. Rina was definitely a good looking female. She listened, then replied to Rina, "Nope, had not told me, I'm happy to hear we have storage... and, really? We have to display our locker in a certain way?" Sav snorted in humor.

Rina nodded as she started placing items from her container on the top shelf of the locker according to the diagram. "Hangers have to be two fingers apart and everything must be facing our right," she said, even though the information was in everyone's PADD.

Sav rolled off of the top bunk and landed on her feet with nary a wobble. She looked worried as she now said, "Umm, Rina? I need to tell you, I... have bad nightmares every so often from what happened to me on Apollonia in College when I was seventeen. I.. would understand if you want to request staying in another room to get away from me interrupting your sleep."

Rina stopped hanging up her clothes and looked back at Sav. "Don't be a Paranoid Patty," she giggled. "I'm up and down 15 times a night." Then quietly she added, "I have a small bladder," and giggled again as she arranged her hung clothes on the rod two fingers apart. "I won't care about your nightmares if you don't care about the fact that I'm a talker. My mom said I was vaccinated with a phonograph needle....whatever that is," and she giggled again.

Sav churred in response, saying, "Done Dealio. Talk away, Maestro." Sav opened the welcome packet on her Padd and set it up to display how the locker should be. That done, she began unpacking her Merchant Marine duffel bag. She brought out her rather large toiletry kit and placed it in the front on the upper locker shelf. She unpacked eight panties, three bra's, one blouse, one shirt, two skorts, two leggins, and then a few pieces of jewelry. She curtsied to Rina and said, "I'm wearing the third set right now. I have not had a chance to go get five sets of uniforms yet."

"This is our last day in civvies for a while," Rina said as she checked her PADD and compared the diagram to her locker. "We don't even get our first weekend pass for three weeks. There. That should pass inspection," she said.

Sav picked up her almost empty duffel bag along with her not even opened L'Tandrey duty bag. She smiled to Rina, "So, Girrrl friend, wanna show me where storage is and then wanna go with meah to get some uniforms?"

"Follow me," Rina said, shutting her container and locking it then pulling the handle out so she could drag it.
