Sansa was still stood next to the helm station on the bridge, watching the ensign on duty. Melody had told her to wait here and someone would be there shortly to escort her round the ship.

Sav had just finished up with the duty roster for getting some newbie ensigns helm time for when the Merlin was able to leave the research center when she received a message that there was a special civilian guest on the bridge needing to be shown around, and she was asked for specifically. Sav finished her coffee and closed up her terminal, then exited her office and went directly to a turbolift.

It opened upon the bridge with its skeletal watch crew. She came over to the OOD (officer of the day) and said, "Commander Tillatix reporting for escort duty. Who's my date for the afternoon?"

The Lieutenant on duty rose from the command chair. "Sir. There's someone in with the Captain and the XO. Came with the convoy. Engineering specialist I believe." He pause and scratched his head. "Funny, I think I've seen her before. Anyway, that's her daughter. She's been watching Ensign Li there like a hawk."

Sav looked over at the daughter and notices a 'young teenager?' From growing up with Terrans on Appolonia, the female Terran was in her formation years, so somewhere between 12 to 15, Sav would guess. She said, "Thank you, Lieutenant, I'll take it from here." Sav turned towards the helm, but the Teenager had already noticed her and taken action.

Sansa glanced up and grinned "Wow, the flying skunk!" She crossed over to them. "You must be Save'ena. Moms told me some...…. really tall tails about you. She's always going on about what a great pilot you are. Almost as good as her apparently. I think she must make some of it up though... You didn't really swap bodies with her in a transporter accident… Did you?"

Sav was taken aback by the sudden flurry of words coming from Sansa, as well as their content. A very puzzled expression came over her muzzle as she tried to regroup herself. She said, "Heyya, yeah, I am the 'flying skunkette'. I didn't know I had grown a reputation like that. Anyways, before anything else, yes, I am Commander Save'ena Amilia Tillatix. Please, call me Sav. And your name is..?"

The young girl threw her arms around Sav "I'm Sansa." She pulled back and blushed "Sorry, I just feel like I know you from what moms told me."

Sav returned the hug, churring lightly. She did not mind hugs, especially with kitlings. She grinned at Sansa, her ears cupping full upon the inquisitive child. She replied, "No apologies needed, Sansa. Kitlings are definitely allowed hugs, ayuh. Okay, let's get off of the bridge before we get the Day watch in trouble, hmm?"

"Ok" Sansa shot one last look at the helm before following Sav'ena.

Sav let the way to the turbolift and entered it. Now away from the bridge, Sav shook herself and looked expectantly at Sansa, "So, standard deck down tour, or seeing as you had such a keen interest in the helm, what would you like to see first?"

The young girls eyes lit up "Engineering, would love to see the warp core."

"Engineering it is, coming right up."

Sav touched the turbolift handle and the lift began moving towards the desired destination. She smiled to Sansa and said, "Well, on tall tales, the further you get away from the source, the taller they grow. I would love to meet your mum and find out what she has heard through the rumor mill. I am a decent enough pilot, I guess." Sav whispered conspiratorially, "I still hold the starfleet Academy Asteroid Speed Run record by over eight minutes, so that counts as pretty good, right?"

Sansa nodded "That is fast. Mum said she manged to scare her Vulcan instructor at the Academy." As she talked, she was constantly looking round the turbo lift, over Sav'ena fur and tail and uniform. "Mum loves flying best, more than engineering. She tells me bedtime stories when she used to do the Jovian shuttle run. She also told me that I should listen to you and anything you told me about flying is gospel. Can you tell me about her though? There are some things that she hasn't told me."

Sav burst out in a giggle at scaring a Vulcan Instructor. Sav's times at the Academy were more about staying out of the cross hairs than getting into them, even though trouble always seemed to find her. She noticed the kitlings attention span being short, yet, tracking detail even as her thoughts wound about from one subject to the next. A flabbergasted look crossed Sav's face and muzzle at hearing that her word was gospel about flying. Who the heck was the kitlings mom, Admiral Chen?

The turbolift slowed down as Sav's thoughts flashed to the red hair and blue eyes of the kitling. She could almost be a daughter of Melody, except Melody had no children and had disappeared just six months back. However, the child kept speaking like her mother knew Sav, so it must be a dignitary or something. So, Sav shook off her thoughts and smiled to the kitling, then asked, "Well, Sansa, I can try, but first I kinda need to know who we are talking about. So, who is your mother?" Sav figured once she knew who the mother was, she could try to get a bearing on how and why the kitling kept talking as though she knew Sav very well.

Sansa looked at her surprised then responded "My mom is Melody Jones."

Sav felt a jolt throughout her body as sparkles flared before her eyes. She voiced the thought that was trampling hard across her mind, saying in a still, small voice, "Melody?... Melody... is your mum?... Melody... is here?..." Her extremities felt distant as she tried to move, shift, anything, but her body wouldn't obey. She saw herself getting lower as her legs crumpled under her. She settled onto them without feeling them as she kept her eyes focused onto Sansa.

"Woa there" Sansa held onto Sav and lowered her gently down till they were both sitting on the floor of the turbolift. "Are you ok?" She asked, looking concerned.

Sav's mind seem to unfreeze as thoughts whorled within. She blinked, the turbolift wall now being felt against her back, even as she felt air upon her fur once more while sitting upon her legs under her. She blinked again, trying to say something, anything, to alleviate and fears the Kitling.. no, Melody's kitling had for her. She managed to stammer out, "G.. G.. Give me... a.. moment... shock.. tis shock.. tah find her... Mom... herun.... nows... ahlive... pahlease... just ah mohment..."

Sansa started gently stroking her fur, trying to get her to calm down. "I didn't mean to shock you like that, sorry. Not many people know what I'm about to tell you, but mom told me she trusts you more than anyone. My mom met my dad while she was serving on the Sarek. She calls my dad complicated. I know she loves him but they don't always get along. They both got blind drunk one night and, that led to me. My mom told me what happened to her when she was a baby, how she was abducted by the Borg. Something that they did to her altered her body chemistry and something was left in her blood that led to her having an accelerated pregnancy. I was born in about 2 months. After I was born my mom says I continued to age rapidly for the next 4 months until doctors at Starfleet medical were able to do something about it. I'll age at a normal rate now. I look about 13 years old but actually I'm about 8 months old. My records have been altered so to most people I'm a normal 13 yr old girl. Moms been great. She always makes time for me. She's got me interested in flying and she always talks about you." She paused for a moment "Are you feeling better?"

Sav was glad that Sansa was stroking across her fur to help her. Melody must have told her about that helping Sav during her nightmares and emotional regressions as she recovered. Right now, all she could do was listen to what Sansa was saying, trying to keep it and memorize it, all the while waiting for the shock to clear from her body. She was glad she had her communication foremind for Telepathy as this is where she was memorizing everything to so that she could go over again when she was more herself.

The shock after effects were leaving her body and Sav was able to be more fully there for Sansa. She churred gently, then said, "I am glad you're you, Sansa, and you're Melody's daughter. That makes you kindof my daughter too, ifin Melody still isa thinkin about me in a particular way." She sighed, then continued, "You're 13... but less than a year, cool, I'll help asa best Ahm able, ayuh. But..."

Sav looked confused, then said, "Ah don't remembah Melody servin' ona USS Sarek, last ah remembah wasa Melody.... nevah mind. Ummm, shoot, yah know this, one second, ayuh." Sav reached over and touched the Turbolift handle and closed her eyes. She interfaced to the Merlin records, then to the engineering crew records for ship crew knowledge. There it was. According to general records, Melody had transferred to a Starfleet sponsored training program for officers wanting to expand their careers on June 4th, 2394. Yet, it was on June 21st, 2394, that the entity had made crew disappear. Sav checked and found records for Caroline for the same thing.

Sav opened her eyes and looked at Sansa with knew wonder. She said, "That's what the entity did, transfer crew not just where, but when and where fer not interruptin' t'e time stream ana get rid of the pesky intruder." She gave Sansa a quick kiss on her lips and said, "Ah knew yer mum ona Merlin until June 21 last year, Kitlin'. But yer mom transferred to t'e program ona June 4th ana so I know nothing about anyt'ing past t'at, ayuh." Sav began giggling lightly, "Yer mum ana I hava bunch tah catch up on... Ah was ina cyrostasis for over six months, keepin another kitlin safe... safe... asa Melody ana Caroline got new starts ina life, t'ey did." Sav giggled some more as her brain tried to catch up on the paradox of what was happening.

Sansa's eyes went wide "Wow! Mom was right. Never a dull moment on this ship. She held on tightly to Sav for a moment then asked "Are you sure you're feeling ok?"

Sav drew in a shuddering breath, then returned the hug to Sansa, "Ah will be ahright, ah will. Just me brain catchin' up with all of... t'is." She churred gently, rocking Sansa in her arms, collecting herself. Sav gave Sansa a final squeeze, then released her and stood up. She smiled down at Sansa, "So, wanna continue tah engineehrin'? Ah am reahdy, ah think."

Sansa smiled at her "Sure." She could see that Sav was stating to look much better. "I think you'd like my dad, If mom dose. Apparently he keeps going on about catching some sort of fish..... Don't ask. And he makes this..... alcohol that can even get mom drunk." She added giggling. "Really love your accent by the way but you don't use it all the time, why's that?"

"Ah might lahke yah dad, buta need tah dahte first." Sav snorted in humor slightly, "Whena deahlin' with others, especially froma other cuhltures, an ahccent can be hard tah unnerstand. So ah use Fed Standard whena on duhty. But, Ah'll use it witha you, Kitlin'."

The turbolift arrived on deck 26 and the pair stepped out into the corridor. Sansa was still talking and asking questions as they walked. "What's this stew mom keeps going on about?

Sav churr-laughed as she replied, " Schtarksian Stew. Itsa hunter's stew froma mah homeworld, ayuh. Root veggies, meats ova horned rahbbits, musk deer, ana prahrie gophahs, ina t'ick base ova rehduced bone ana veggie stock, served ina souahdough bread bowl. Melody found sevehral veggies ina hydroponics ana meats simahlar ina taste from Terra ina replicatah. Ahctually tastin' verah good, ayuh."

"It dose Sound good" Sansa agreed. "Mom dose insist on cooking from time to time. She says its good to get away from a computer once in a while."

As they entered engineering, Sansa let a whistle before falling silent as she looked around. "Nice, very nice. What the maximum power output? top speed?"

Sav churr-laughed again and said, "Yah hava lot ova questions, Sansa. Ah can answah speed. Cruise isa eight, rahted max isa nine point nine, ana emergency isa nine point nine nine fer thirtah six houahs, ayuh. Fer powah output, weun gotta ask an engineeah. Common, t'is way."

Sav led the way to be near the warp core but not near any control panels. She waved down an ensign. "Good Morning. This is Commander Jones daughter, very inquisitive, and needing some questions answered. Can you help a couple of ladies out?"

The young ensign duly complied "Yes sir, how can I help?"

Sansa started asking some quite complicated questions about the warp drive and the Ensign did his best to answer them. Sansa listened intently to everything he said but, now and then stole a glance over to Sav'ena just to keep an eye on her. When he had finished Sansa beamed at him "Thank you. I find it all very interesting." She turned to Sav "I don't know about you but I'm thirsty. Is there somewhere we can get something to drink and have a rest?"

Sav churr-giggled and replied, "Hmm, could be ya'll talkin' a lot, ayuh... naaah." She motioned with her head, "T'is way, t'e main lounge isa on deck 13, onwahrd to t'e turbolift."

As they walked Sansa asked "You never did answer my question about the transporter incident. Did that really happen or was mom making it up?"

A snort-churr-giggle escapted Sav's muzzle. She looked over to Sansa and replied, "Ah fergot ahbout that. Yes, Kitlin' Sansa, it happened. It wasa weird bein' ina yer mum's body fer ah bit, ana Ah think yer mum enjoyed bein in mine, ahfter sheun got used to t'e more keen senses, ayuh. Ahma just glahd it happened after t'e bad mesh wasa removed from me body.. Ah wouldn't have lahked her tah feel those pains."

The pair got on the turbolift and Sav brushed by the turbolift handle with her hand and it began moving. She stated, "We're on ourun way. Ah lahke spiced herbal teas, cohffee, ana ahpple cidah. What ahbout yuh?"

"A nice cool, cloudy lemonade." Sansa replied, her mind on something else. "Wow, my mom, the skunkette." She chuckled to herself.

The turbolift doors opened and they exited and went right across the hall and into the main lounge. Sav led the way to a window table for the two and motioned Sansa to pick first, then Sav followed. She grinned at Sansa, "Asa Ah'm a depahrtment head, a servah will beun here shortly. Perks fer t'e position. So, what othah questions yah have fer me?"

"How did you first meet my mom?" Sansa asked as a waiter came over.

"Good afternoon ladies, and what can I get for you?"

"A traditional lemonade with ice please." Sansa replied, she looked over to Save'ena.

"That sounds good. I'll have a limeade, no sugar, touch of honey, and a sampler of mozzarella sticks, pahlease," Sav responded.

After the waiter left to get their order, Sav answered Sansa's question. "Well, Ah was arrivin' on boahrd ina Valkerie fightah after ah skirmish in an astahroid field. Ah bypassed t'e landin' pad ana flew her into t'e maintenance dockin' clamps, ona dime, as it's known. She'un wasa waitin' fer me ana let me know good flyin. Ah was fresh off mah cahdet cruise ana told Ah was CAG."

The waiter arrived and placed their order down, saying, "If you need anything else, let me know. Have a good day." He left.

Sav motioned to the mozzarella sticks for Sansa to have one, then she took one herself to nibble on. She took a sip of her tart, but very refreshing, limeade, and smiled to Sansa. "We got tah know each o'tah aftah more intahaction within each o'ter. Sheun helped me t'rough some tryin times, ayuh, asa Ah helped her asa well. Weun had some promises tah each o'ter, but wit'ah time shift, ah do not know ifin they are still ina place or not." Sav churred to Sansa, "You are worth it, Sansa, you are worth it. Ah ama glahd you're here, Kitling, glahd you're here."

Suddenly, general quarters was called out over the intercom. Sav drained her limeade and stood up. "Common, let's get you to your quarters so I can get to my DCO station."

Sansa nodded. "Ok" As they stood, Sansa embraced Sav'ena once more. "Thanks for a great tour."
