    The Hunt is On

Posted on Thursday 25 July 2019 @ 20:12 by Commander Melody Jones & Commander Save'ena (Sav) Tillatix & Commander Caroline Miller & Lieutenant Marbim Rejal & Lieutenant Breana Rathburn & Lieutenant Michael Ki MD & Master Chief Petty Officer Harris Zim

    Mission: The New Collective
    Location: Main Bridge
    Timeline: After Morning Breifing

    ON:

Melody walked on to the bridge from the ready room. She sat down in the Captain's chair.

"Helm, I'm sending you some co-ordinates. Please lay in a course and prepare to engage at maximum warp."

Sav's tail shook once in affirmative as she responded, "Understood, Captain. Ready for them."

Melody pressed the com =/\= Bridge to engineering. We're going to need all the speed you can give us.=/\=

=/\= Yes Captain, I'll keep her running strong and fast for you. =/\= Breana replied quickly before turning to her crew.

"Lieutenant Tregen, I want you to head up on the bridge to relieve Ensign Soltero, send him back down here and then make sure everything stays running smoothly up there and give me heads up on anything that you can. I wanna know if we are going to get shot at before it happens." She wasn't sure what they where getting ready to head into, but she didn't want any surprises. Bree looked at the rest of the crew she had on duty. "Be alert, if you notice anything of, no matter how small or random it is, I wanna know about it. Now... lets push this ship"

After getting the responses she wanted from her crew, Rathburn took a deep breath and got ready to go.

She turns to Rejal "I think we better be prepared for anything." Before raising her voice to address the bridge "We're going to investigate the coordinates we've recovered from the alien computer that was located on the colony that was attacked by the Rogue Borg. We have reason to believe the technology belonged to Species 8472. They might have been able to pinpoint the location of the Borg base of operations. We don't know what we're going to find so Red Alert! All hands to battle stations!"

The Red alert alarm began to sound.

Turning back to Rejall "I think it might be prudent to run a battle drill en route. Will you oversee that Lieutenant?"

"Yes Captain." Walking over to his station, he sends three messages, one to Master Cheif Zim, another to Lieutenant Gibson, the final to Captain Adams: "Gents, Red Alert, we're running a battle drill, get your people moving - and I want four marines ready for bear on my bridge now, that's an order folks."

Tapping a few buttons, "Good Morning Merlin, this is to inform you that we are running a battle drill, and the clock is running. I want all marines, and fighter wings prepped and on standby five minutes ago. All non-essential personnel head for your quarters, or to evac points, whichever is closest. Sickbay, prep for wounded. I want a security team in Main Engineering yesterday, Commander Rejal out!"

Looking over at his Captain, he tuts, "You don't have a phaser on you Captain, perhaps we should let your daughter come up with the proper disciplinary action for that oversight, hmmm, or, you could borrow mine and she'll never know." Even though he is smiling, Captain Jones can tell he isn't kidding around with her safety.

Zim received the message from the bridge and smiled. This was what he lived for, something that his people and Klingons had in common. Their love for combat. "Alright ladies and gents you heard the folks upstairs. Let's get our butts in motion. Battle stations, battle stations..." This became a mantra as he jogged through the ship to the bridge. As Chief of the Boat it was his place to be on the bridge. When he arrived he activated his station.

Michael was in his office reading when the shipewide announcement came over the speakers. He rolled his eyes, stood up and adjusted his uniform. "Well it's time for more people to get hurt." He said aloud to the empty office. When he walked out to the main Sick Bay area he began to address his staff. "Right so this should be old hat for everyone by now. Triage teams stand ready to receive wounded. Surgical Bays prep and stand by. Any non emergency patients that are here currently should be moved into the recovery ward now. You herd the man, he is going to hurt em. We have to make sure that everyone gets to go back duty. Let's get to it." Michael and his team set to work and within moments Ki tapped his comm badge. =/\=Ki to bridge. Sick Bay stands ready...=/\=

Marbim responds back to Sickbay, =/\= Thank you Doctor, would you like some security forces down there, just in case? =/\=

=/\=Sound precaution, thanks. Sick Bay out.=/\= Michael responded when the comm closed he slumped. This was the worst, the calm before the storm.

Sav called back to Melody, "Coordinates inlaid and ready to warp on you're command, Captain."

From the Captain's chair, Melody raised her hand "Engage!"

Sav called back to Melody, "Going to warp..." Now as a Galaxy class, the cruise speed was Warp 9.2. Speeds would quickly go up to that point, but above that would take a little more time and you could feel the ship adjusting for higher emergency speed of 9.9 that would only be good for 12 hours. Sav continued calling out the speeds as the ship went from normal and into high warp speeds. "Warp 6, Warp 8,, Warp 9,, Warp 9.2,, 9.3,, 9.4,, 9.5,, 9.6,, 9.7,,, 9.8,,,, Warp 9.9." On the viewscreen, the unusual striations of colors from the increasing of warp speed shifted back to the normal starview of Warp travel. "Warp 9.9 and holding steady, Sir."

Bree heard the alerts and the announcements, great... lets really test her... not just the ship. She glanced to her crew a moment to make sure they where still focused and ready. She knew Doyle had made it to the bridge by now and would be updating her on things from there also. "Alright, we got this." She pipped up to keep everyone focused and alert, though it was hard not to stay alert with the loud alarms going off.

As the Merlin slides into warp, Marbim looks over to the Security station, "Sorry, I didn't catch your name, but would you please get a security detail to Sickbay, might be good if they have some medical training as well. It might make our good Doctor accept their presence a little easier."

"Sir, I'm afraid chief Gibson is quite ill. I've been asked to cover his shift," a short brunette Trill advised. "Lieutenant JG Laax. I'll get straight on it," she nodded and started issuing commands and teams from the security station.

Caroline walked onto the bridge, having finished up a counseling session. She took her allocated seat next to the CO. Turning to Melody she said, "Captain I have no further appointments and Dr Ki has sickbay purring like a group of Tribbles so I thought my time would be better utilised on the bridge."

Melody nodded as she placed a hand on Caroline shoulder. "Well, I'm glad you're here." She looked around the at the rest of the bridge crew responding with professionalism and dedication. "We should be at the co-ordinates in less than an hour. Who knows what we're going to find."

"The Captain one hopes..." Zim said off the cuff as he correlated some reports from the various departments.

Melody nodded but added somberly "It would be a relief Chief but I'm afraid it looks doubtful."
