| Personal History | James was born during what some have deemed the 'golden age' of the federation. It was a time when the Klingons slowly stopped being a threat, the Romulans were barely a blip, and the Borg had not yet made their incursion. He was born on Betazed, the planet being one his parents - both human, enjoyed immensely. Though betazed would be their home, his family would often travel around the galaxy. The young boy would find an extreme interest in ships, though truth be told he wanted to become an exobiologist as a kid - because who wouldn't? However, as times change - so did he. He ultimately found a love of piloting. He joined starfleet, in hopes of being able to helm ships like the Nebula Class starship, or perhaps even a Galaxy Class ship. Two years into his time at the Academy - the Dominion War would break out. This would cause a frenzy in training and promotion. Given his natural abilities, James would move from positions with in operations and helm to the starfighter corp. He would serve in several battles including the battle to retake DS9 (Sacrifice of Angels) where his fighter would be destroyed, with him able to eject though not remembering anything from the battle) to ultimately the battle of Cardassia. The war, like anything else, would change him and make him more hardened and an ardent defender of starfleet being a more military outfit than that of exploration. He would request for positions that would allow him to be on the front lines in defense of the federation. |
