	Captains Personal Merit Awarded Saturday 30 July 2016 @ 05:24 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	This is a crew wide award. I set a goal of posting 80 quality logs by the time I have to file my report on 31 July and the crew of Merlin has not only met that goal but have risen very comfortably above it, and in just week since the goal was set. 	Unit Award of Merit - Gold Awarded Monday 15 August 2016 @ 23:32 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	Gold USS Merlin, TF72 I am beyond proud to nominate the USS Merlin for the award this month. Once again, they have shown what a crew working together can achieve. Earlier in the month, the Commanding Officer was appointed as Senior Ship Commanding Officer, but that didn’t stop him from posting, and being even more active, taking a great approach to talk to the Commanding Officers in the Task Group to get some ideas flowing and most of the Commanding Officers have really appreciated the extra set of eyes on their website and what they are doing. On the USS Merlin, he challenged his crew to reach 90 “quality” posts over the month, and even with a bandwidth issue and a change of website, they were still able to not just reach that goal (with time to spare), but even that didn’t stop them, reaching 98 posts, and I took the time to read some of those posts, and they are of the best quality, they aren’t just a couple of one-liners to post out to boost the numbers, they are pure quality writing from crewmember after crewmember, and a lot of them are joint posts, showing me that this crew has a sense of family, respect and most importantly; teamwork. They are the epitome of what we should all be looking at for our simulations, and they should all be proud of what they have achieved in four short months that they have been part of Obsidian Fleet! 	Most Improved Player of the Month Awarded Tuesday 16 August 2016 @ 11:27 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	Lieutenant Tan came to us about a month ago. He had come from a forum based simm and had to learn about Nova and simming here. In the last few weeks especially we have seen a great improvement in how posts were done. His participation has gotten higher, which is great because he came in with high participation. 	Departmental Service Badge: Service Awarded Thursday 22 September 2016 @ 02:26 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	Tan came on board just before the plot started, starting in tactical then changing to ops. After getting to ops Tan has done what he can to keep himself involved with the plot, ultimately leading to him taking charge of Merlin's TIC during a fight in the absence of a strat ops officer. (2O Citation) He has demonstrated the ability to make his characters become larger that life and is excellent at going deep as far as details go. (XO Citation) Tan has adjusted very well from his changing positions from tactical to operations and continues to keep up the high standard of posts in his new position.
	Professional Merit Awarded Thursday 22 September 2016 @ 02:26 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	Since joining Tan has not just developed his own character but his family as well. Some simmers brig a family in but forget about developing them. The Tan family is one I feel I am getting know and I love reading the family logs. (2O Citation) As well as the main plot, Tan continues to give depth to his character by adding lots of details with side plots of his family which are detailed and very interesting,
	Unit Award of Merit - Bronze Awarded Thursday 15 December 2016 @ 23:00 Nominated by Captain John "Apollo" Barstow, M.D.	The USS Merlin has been an oak for TG72B during the transition of a new TGCO coming in. Captain Barstow has managed to keep up with his duties as SSCO and still motivate his crew to put up great numbers and quality posts. 	Good Conduct Medal Awarded Tuesday 6 June 2017 @ 07:03 Nominated by Captain Melody Jones	Lieutenant Tan's conduct during the recent away mission to a derelict ship was above and beyond his duty. He lead the away team in a post which was both exciting to read and provided valuable information for the continuation of the mission.
