The Bastet Strain

The USS Merlin receives a priority-one distress signal from Orestes IV, a remote Federation agricultural colony. The message is garbled, consisting mostly of rhythmic, high-frequency screeching and a frantic plea from the colony’s Chief Medical Officer: "It’s in the water... it’s not killing us, it’s... changing us."

The Discovery
Upon arrival, Captain Melody Jones leads an away team to the surface. They find the colony eerie and silent. There are no signs of a struggle suddenly hundreds of cats appear. Anyone who is licked by a cat becomes a cat. Can the crew find a cure before this disease spreads to the ship…. And beyond
