"Computer, begin log,"

"I have returned to my quarters after a long day. I conducted my first debriefing per Captain Barstow's orders. That had gone well as could be expected. I haven't yet given my report to the captain but I'm still working on it.

"I had dinner with Melody Jones in her quarters, drinks with Captain Barstow in the Round Table and after all that I don't feel tired at all. In fact, I feel more energized than ever. I even came out about my new ability to the captain. And after fearing that he would relieve me of duty, but he didn't. That shocked the hell out of me.

"But I was beginning to figure my CO out. He was a crafty person who didn't always follow the regulations but followed his gut instincts. I imagine my newfound powers allowed me to figure this out.

"I thought this cruise would be simple for me what with being Chief Science Officer on a starship for the first time but I never imagined I would be promoted to Executive Officer due to my inexperience but again my new CO had thrown me a curve ball. I had managed to take that curve ball and knock it out of the park, as it were.

"All in all, this tour should prove to be an excellent teaching tool for me. My next log should be as Lieutenant Commander Cale Llewellyn, DSci.I am looking forward to getting my doctorate."
