Mission:
A Whale of a problem (We're going to need a bigger boat)
Location: Sansa's quarters
Timeline: MD 6 0915
655 words - 1.3 OF Standard Post Measure
ON:
Sansa was in their quarters, reading more on Humpback whales from the books she had borrowed from the ship’s library.
From out her window, she could see the vast, ocean covered planet. The Merlin appeared to be moving into orbit. “We must be there…” She said aloud to herself. She was really looking forward to this. Finally, they would see who had been in contact with…..
Her eyes narrowed on a bight speck that seemed to be moving up from the planet right towards the ship. It was very small but it was moving straight towards the ship… towards her…. She took some steps back from the window as the light continued to move closer and closer. The light came straight through the window. It made no sound in fact, it gave off nothing. Although it was shining, the light level in the room stayed the same and the light did not reflect off any surface. If she wasn’t looking at it, she probably would have not known it was in the room. Sansa stood transfixed as the object seemed to move closer to her and stopped Infront of her as if regarding her.
Not wanting to take her eyes off the object, she slowly reached up with her hand and tapped her comm badge. “Jones to bridge. Intruder alert!”
No response.
She tapped the badge again, this time a slight edge of panic creeping into her voice. “Jones to bridge…” Her voice trailed off as she realised that her comm badge had not chirped in response to her touch. She tried to lighten the mood as she started to edge back towards the door. “I’m guessing you’re responsible for the lack of communication.” She said to the floating ball of light. The ball of light did nothing.
Her hopes of escape were dashed when instead of opening, her butt banged into the door which remained firmly shut.
Sansa took a deep sigh, and stood up straight, opening her arms. “Just do what you’re here to do.” She said in a resolute tone and shut her eyes, whispering one last word. “Hayley….”
As if taking her words as permission, the ball of light flew at her and disappeared into her head. Sansa’s entire body went rigid before collapsing to the floor in a heap.
About 5 minutes passed before the young woman’s eye’s snapped open but there was nothing human behind those eyes. Unsteadily, she rose to her feet, looking at her arms and legs as if they were completely foreign to her. She looked around the room with a blank expression on her face, stopping when she caught sight of her reflection in a mirror.
Momentarily, her expression almost registered curiosity before she suddenly cocked her head to one side as if listening to something only she could hear.
She abruptly turned and walked out of the quarters. Entering a tubolift she set the destination by hand. The turbolift started moving but stopped shortly afterwards and a young ensign boarded. He looked at her and smiled sheepishly, recognising the Captain's Daughter. “Good morning Miss Jones.”
She looked at him a moment blankly before the corner of her mouth slowly went up into a smile, but she remained silent.
The young mand took the smile as a greeting and spoke to the computer “Deck 2”
The turbolift stopped again and Sansa started to walk out.
“Going to the shuttle bay?” The young man asked after her, but she ignored him. Frowning slightly, he was about to ask again but the tubolift doors snapped shut between them.
Walking quickly, Sansa enterd the shuttle bay and quickly stepped to one side couching down behind some cargo containers…. Wating.
When she was certain no one was looking, moving quickly she snuck quietly into the runabout closest to the launch doors and disappeared into the cabin at the rear.
