Mathias leaned up against the wall in the transporter room, waiting for his cousin Hamish to arrive. He couldn't believe that Hamish was going to be here, on the same ship as he is. It had be awhile since they saw each other. When they were on Earth, he and Hamish didn't have the chance to catch up. Much had happened when Sansa was playing host for Fay. And Hamish hadn't been able to make it to the dinner at Grandmother's place.

The pattern areas lit up and the sparkling effect of the transporter activating came to view. Mathias held his breath as he watched his cousin take form on the transporter pad. When he was fully together, Mathias pushed himself from the wall and strode up to Hamish.

"Hi there, Hamish. Long time no see!" Mathias greeted him, with a smile.

Hamish blinked then gave Mathias a very hard look. "I can see you, fairy man." he remarked, a bit gruffly.

A raise of an eyebrow towards him, Mathias wondered just what was what. "What's your problem? Did someone substituted lemon juice instead of milk in your tea? Is that the way to greet kin?"

Hamish stepping down from the transporter pad, walked over towards Mathias. "Maybe if you could have made one of my hoped for invitations to meet up, it would have been nice!" he heatedly retorted. "What was so important that you couldn't have, at least had the decency in answering my calls, my queries. I was hoping we would be able to go see the whales. Like we had when lads. You and Abigale, what gives? Even Abigale had missed my calls, she was so busy with her diplomatic stuff?"

Mathias took a deep breath, feeling rather guilty about not calling him nor meeting up with him. "Sorry Hamish, things got a little bit, complicated. Very complicated."

Hamish snorted, "Yeah right. Grams told me that you were playing host escort for a little girl who had been the host for some...Alien Entity, from some planet. Megapteranians. I don't know how this person had the right to even do this?"

Mathias rolled his eyes during the whole rant of his cousin, he held his hand up to forestall any further rant. "Hamish, I am sorry I didn't get in touch with you or even be able to meet up. " he said apologetically.

"And I am most definitely irritated that you didn't have the decency to invite me to your performance." Hamish spouted off. "What gives? I didn't get to participate in that either." walking up and poking Mathias in his chest with an index finger. "Sure keep your cousin out of the loop."

"I wasn't trying to do any such thing, Hamish." he looked over towards the transporter chief, then to Hamish. "Come on let me show you your quarters and we can catch up as I walk with you there." Mathias said. And draped an arm over one shoulder and left the transporter room with his cousin Hamish in tow.

On the way to Hamish's quarters, Mathias briefly touched upon what had happened with him, his own experiences over the last month. Especially the away mission that he got injured on. Which wasn't too long ago. He lightly touched on the subject of Sansa, being the host and then Abigale. He didn't go into detail as he wasn't that sort of man. Though he did tell him about Caroline.

Hamish stared at his cousin. "Okay, you've been through some rough stuff. Would still have been nice for you to have told me something. Mum, your mum, your sisters and me dad and your dad hadn't any clue as to what is going on. You need to keep us informed!" flicking Mathias in the forehead with his thumb and index finger.

"I told your mum, and got her to send out feelers to find out who took my lady love!" Mathias protested. waving off another finger flick, trying to stay mad at his cousin. "okay here we are at your quarters. I'll leave you to it and get things sorted out."

"Well you owe me breakfast, so, make sure we go get something to eat. You owe me that much, well make that you owe me a lot and I can tell you what happened with me okay?" Hamish said. his bad mood having disappeared. He pulled Mathias in for a hug. "Glad to see you, and glad you are in one piece."

Mathias nodded, looking at his cousin. "Okay see you later and will pick you up tomorrow and take you to get some breakfast. A brilliant smile lighting up his face. He felt pretty good to have Hamish here. Nice to have family around. With a wave, Mathias left and headed down the corridor.

Hamish watched his cousin disappear from view, turned and walked into his quarters. It was nice and not bad. However he was still irritated about the young upstart whom he'd not met, and who occupied his cousin's time. Ah well he'll find out whom she is and they will have words.
