"Computer begin log"

We made it back to the Merlin with the life pod's. However it came at a price. The Romulans sent in the Teth Koros to interfere with our investigation of the crashed ship. As a it happens, one of my marines was wounded servery. They just now taken him up to sickbay, where i'm bound shortly. Sgt. West wounds are my fault. I knew better than to let him take a visual look of the area before scanning it. Hind site is a terrible thing in a situation like this.

The Doctor and her team were able to retrieve the life pods from the ship. I don't know the condition's of the persons with in the pods, but i'm assuming that they are alive and still in stasis. The Romulans seem to be very interested in repatriating their people. I understand the need of freeing ones people, but the ones here are thousands of years old of no probable relation to any. Something deep is afoot with this situations.

Now i'm going to close this log out and head to sickbay. I forgot to duck once again and have a useless left arm to show for it. I was careless this time. I've spent too much time riding a desk and have become complacent. I'm starting to think it's time for retirement.
