Personal Log :: SD 239309.04 - 03:20 hrs ...
After going to my office to check up on any pending issues, I have finally managed to get back to my quarters, but need to be ready should the Captain require me back in TIC immediately ...
I fully expected our quarters to be in darkness, given it is essentially the middle of the night, but to my surprise, Lana was asleep on the sofa and woke the second the door opened. Despite my protestations that she needed to go to bed, she insisted on making me some dinner. (I hadn't actually eaten since the previous morning, so the hot meal was welcomed) ... She is at the replicator now, thus my being able to post this log.
Lana is used to 'unsociable hours' as she calls them, and told me so in no uncertain terms ...
I need to commend my Deputy, Lieutenant Junior Grade Lysia T'Seng. She acted professionally and insisted on remaining when, knowing the Officers serving in TIC were well past their Duty Shift end, I ordered the shift change, i also need to say that the TIC Staff were very supportive of my rawness on first taking Command. As for my performance, I can only assume I carried out my assigned duties to the best of my ability, though I'm sure I'll be informed in due course. I have to admit that being thrown in the proverbial 'deep end' was a baptism of fire for me, but sometimes that's how you get to know the performance level of an Officer.
Ah, food.
Finally persuading Lana to go to bed I can tuck into my late late dinner .....
