Personal log :: SD 239401.21 - 03:40 hrs ...
I'm about to set out on what can only be called a rescue mission, though errand of mercy would fit too.
I was contacted last night by her mother who informed me of the possible issue ..... The Daughter of a close family friend, Captain Nora Tennant, may be in trouble. She pleaded with me to go after her daughter, Stephanie, before a man named Valok Narat, who once worked for them reached her. He was dismissed from service and has threatened to harm the girl if his demands are not met, and given the impossibility of those demands being met, it is highly likely he will take his inevitable frustration out on their daughter.
Lieutenant Commander Jones, a guest for dinner last evening, has offered to accompany me. Her flying skills may prove useful in evading any pursuit,and a second pair of eyes is always advantageous. Lana is understandably concerned at my venture and wanted to inform the Captain, but I persuaded her that if we did so he would be under obligation to report the matter and thus make the search official. All officers and crew, when not on duty, are effectively on 'shore leave' status, thus my departure only needs to be logged with Flight control and my Deputy. The man going after the Tennants' daughter has made it perfectly clear that any attempt to rescue Stephanie would result in her immediate demise, regardless of the consequences to himself.
We are leaving the ship at zero four hundred hours, which at high warp will have us at the location agreed upon with only hours to spare. we will need to land on the surface of the moon where Staphanie is working, reach her, and hopefully detain Narat.
Nora and Laurence Tennant have already left Saturn en-route to the Merlin, and should be here when we return, hopefully successfully !
