Today was Mackenzie's first day with Lieutenant Commander Jones. The Exec' is going to be instructing, or mentoring my six year old Daughter in Flight Control ...

We mat earlier and she asked to have time with Kenzie. We wasn't sure what to expect, but a bubbling overjoyed six, 'and a half' as she pointed out, coming home full of narratives on what they had done on their first day was brilliant. I hadn't realised that the notified course change had been carried out by my Daughter, the sight of her entering the Bridge must have been priceless, knowing all the Bridge crew would have been wondering why the ships Executive Officer was putting a child at Helm, wish i'd been there.

To my, and Lana's complete surprise, Mackenzie has come home with 'homework' !

Having skimmed through the contents of the three PADD's Lieutenant commander Jones issued her with, I can see they are the basic training manuals and other information plucked right from the Academy curriculum, with some quirky and imaginative additions by our Exec' ...

I'm not too sure at this point how often the Commander will want to see Kenzie, and there I am again, calling her 'Commander' rather than Melody, but at this stage in our friendship I'm not sure the familiarity is appropriate, unless of course she approves.

Well, I have a duty shift tomorrow, and Lana, Mackenzie, and Mia are at school until fifteen hundred, we'll have to see what tomorrow brings ...
