Gregor was excited as he hurried back to their quarters, He had managed to get the use of a shuttle pod for the next two days. He had already replicated a camping set and set them by the inside of the doorway when he entered their room. " Good news Avelina! We were able to get use of a shuttle pod for the next several days, all we need to do is pack some clothes and we can go
down to the planet when your ready. There's a couple of nice lakes in the area as well, so we might be able to do some swimming while we're there. " He stated with a boyish grin.
Avelina grinned seeing the mood he was in. "Will we be going to Bakku? Or the Aristaeus Colony on the planet below? We can fend ourselves against dinosaurs there or have relaxing time on Bakku. Which will we go?"
Gregor laughed. " Do you really want to spend our time running from dinosaurs to avoid being eaten? Swimming would be out of the question on a dinosaur planet. The most dangerous thing I want to focus on is nature and you. " He said as he drew her in for a tender embrace. " Personally I'd say I'm for going to Bakku myself. I don't mind some running for health reasons, But running for my life, so as not to be eaten is a different matter. Besides I'm almost assured that I'll have to go down there one day. Some Anthropologist will want to go down there and study the dinosaurs and security will have to go of course. "
"You do have a point, the reason for a shoreleave is to relax and the thought of running from Dinosaurs and having to worry about swimming in a lake and having to look out for possible predators... that would be best to go to Bakku." Avelina laughed. "I'm almost packed anyway, don't have much to pack due to well this was supposed to be a short trip. And well, there are shops that I can get other things I need anyway." a bright smile.
Gregor stepped back from Avelina. " I've got a shelter, Two sleeping bags, some basic tools and four days emergency rations just in case. We can purchase fresh food on the surface and after speaking with some of the locals we can find out where where some of the best scenic camping areas are, We can also learn of any areas to stay away from so as not to offend our host. Now we come to our big choice that you and I have to make.. Do we go to the mountains, the ocean or a day at each? " He asked with a grin.
"I say both, don't want to miss out on anything in truth. Maybe we can extend our stay at both just to get more of a feel for them? Like two days each? We'll be in time for Mathias's wedding." Avelina coming up and wrapping her arms around Gregor once more. "Also am glad that you came to the wedding of my friend. They were over the moon at my having found such a good looking man."
Gregor smiled at his lovely bride to be. " Your friends wedding was a delightful evening, We danced almost every single dance together that night. You know your friend that got married was sure watching us pretty close most of the night. I swear that she was targeting you when it came time to throw the boquette. I mean that boquette practically fell into your lap. Not that I minded. " He said with a sly grin. " We wouldn't want to make those poor flowers out to be liars now would we? "
" I almost forgot. " Stated Gregor. and turned and walked to the desk and sat down at the computer. " We've got to request additional time for the shuttle. " Gregor sent off a message and was starting to stand to walk back over to Avelina, the computer chimed letting him know that there was a message. " He wants to know why we need the extra time. " He informed Avelina as he read the message to her. He typed back his response which was answered even faster then the first message, Gregor was surprised and laughed. " I told him that my fiance and I wanted to go camping. His return message was If you just survived the Merlin and your camping with your Fiance, then you can have it for a week. after that it has to go in for it's annual inspection and tune up. So when do you want to leave? " He asked her.
"Hmmnn..." Avelina gazing around the room then back to her love. "Shall we go.. now?" giving a laugh. "Won't take me long to get things packed and we'll head out on our adventure." walking over behind Gregor and wrapping her arms around him. "I am so excited!"
Gregor gave Avelina a gentle kiss. " That grab your gear and let's go get the shuttle and head out. The only thing I've got left to do is notify Ops when we depart since I've already filed our flight plan and destination. I've just got to adjust the time frame in the flight plan for return date and we'll be good. I'm excited to be able to spend our time together as well, So as soon as you've got your stuff we'll leave. "
With an excited squeal, Avelina went almost in a blaze of activity, and in no time at all, her bag was packed and she was ready to go. "We're leaving on a jet plane." she sang with a laughter in her eyes. "I am looking forward to this, I am ready let's go!" grabbing Gregor by the hand.
Gregor changed the flight information while Avelina packed and was ready by the time she packed. He walked to the door and picked up the backpack and camping gear. He took Avelina's hand and stepped into the corridor. " Computer, seal door until I return. Sierra Charlie four seven one one six nine November. " =^= Confirmed=^= responded the computer.
They walked until they arrived at the shuttle bay and entered holding hands. As they entered they were approached by a white bearded man. " You must be Lieutenant Morgan. " His eyes went to Avelina. " And this must be your lovely bride to be. I am Master Chief Petty Officer Patrick O'Neil, Follow me and I'll show you to your shuttle. " He stopped in front of a shuttle. " She's a Chaffee class shuttle, Impulse engines only. More then enough to get you around in the system and back. Just remember to have it back at the end of the week. " He leaned in towards the two love birds and said with a grin. " Unless you plan on eloping, and then I can let you have a runabout for five days if that's what you'd prefer. " He said chuckling.
Avelina looked over at Gregor, "We could do that, or us get married right now before we go. What do you think? Shore leave being our honeymoon? Would make for things to get done quickly. And then we'll go from there. Mum, dad and some of my family can be witnesses. Hopefully your parents won't be upset if we get married so quickly."
" That can be taken care of easily enough. "Said Gregor. " all I need is one security person with a standard head mount camera gear to record the wedding and I transmit it back with a message to gather the family first before viewing and then they won't miss out. If I really want to make them wait a little I can send a code to open the lock out area of the transmission that would make sure they're gathered together or at least viewing at the same time. Of course we'll have to go and see them sometime so they can meet their new daughter in law. You'll have to be careful with my mother, she may not want to let you go. " He said smiling.
Avelina laughed, "Well she'd have to fight my mum." giving a wink. "I think your mother will be able to let me go as I will be with you. Can't have you starve to death." wrapping her arms around his waist. "Let's get this moving along, with Mathias being busy and he doesn't know I am here and well this is still going to be an elopement" she giggled. "Does that sound selfish"
Gregor shook his head. " No you don't sound like your being selfish, I want you to be my wife just as soon as we can get married. " He said as he gazed into her eyes seeing only her. We'll go to Star Base 308, pack your gear and load it into the shuttle. We'll need to get your family together and I'll see if I can't borrow a security officer from your father to record the event. Do we want to spend the night there or go directly to Bakku? " He asked her.
The Master Chief Petty Officer reached inside of the shuttle pod and powered it down. " Right one elopement special coming up. " As he walked towards the nearest runabout and disappeared inside of it for a few minutes. Shortly thereafter he came out tapping information onto his PaDD. " Alright I'll see you two back here in five days. " Said Old Patrick. He turned and shook Gregor's hand and kissed Avelina on the cheek. " Let me be the first to congratulate the new married couple. " With that he turned and walked back towards the control panel to open the bay doors. " You two had better get moving, You've got a wedding to get to. " Said the Old Master Chief Petty Officer. As he stood at the panel and opened the door looking into the wide universe.
Gregor flushed a shade of red. and whispered to Avelina. " I forgot that he was even here. I was focusing on you. " He said. He waved to Patrick O'Neil. Thank you for all you have done for us. " He turned to Avelina. Shall we go my love? "
"Love, lets just get married here, we can have the wedding done in the holo-deck and can have an official do the honors. It can be witnessed by our families and that can be a good set up. What do you think? I just want to be married to you." then she smiled towards Patrick and then giggled.
" If you want to get married here then I have no objections to that, But we're still going to need that shuttle craft if we're still going down to the Bakku planet for our honeymoon. " Gregor thought a moment and struggled with what he wanted to say. " Something I have recently found out from my sister Lilli, is that my brother Randal has been recently assigned to the marine division at Sb 308. I was wondering if I had time to pop on over in a runabout and get him and bring him back, Or do you think we have time to do that? I want to be married to you as soon as I may too. "
Avelina thought it over, then smiled "we've got time, lets get him, heck, we can just go there and get married with some of the family there and then off to Bakku, this way would work out rather nicely." snuggling up to Gregor, "either way lets get this wonderful plan and show on the road." then giving him a loving kiss.
Gregor stepped back after the kiss and looked into Avelina's eye's. " I thought you wanted your parents to be at our wedding. If I take a runabout to SB 308 I can be there and back in about four hours, I can radio ahead to Randal's CO and ask if I can barrow my little brother to be my best man . That way we can both have family members present at our wedding, Do you want to set things up here while I get Randal? " Gregor asked. " Do you have a bridal dress? If not I believe that there is a bridal shop on the promenade. Would you like to take a look? "
"Gregor, my parents are still on SB 308 so we can get married there with them being there. Sorry if I am fuddling things up right now." Avelina blew up a puff of air. "Now I am wondering do you still want to marry me even if I mix things up slightly?" turning her green eyes towards Gregor. "This way your brother will be there my dad and mum will be there. We can just take the wedding to them okay?"
"What? You think I wouldn't marry you just because of a little mistake? Your not getting rid of me that easily. " He said with a grin. " Master Chief O'Neil, I believe we'll take that runabout now if we may. "
MCPO Patrick O'Neil rolled his eyes. " Are you two still here? Go get married already and bring me back a piece of cake, Not get a move on it. "
Gregor saluted. " Aye Aye Master Chief, getting the move on now! " As he picked up the gear and started walking towards the shuttle. " Come now Love! Lets get going. And remember we Owe the Master Chief a slice of cake. Now where on SB 308 could we find a yummy piece of cake? and perhaps some tea? "
Avelina laughed, "Oh I am sure a certain shop owner can put something together" giving a kiss, "And I really close friends with the owner. Just have to figure out the cake we want." another kiss. "Shall we get going?"
Gregor and Avelina boarded the runabout and secured the hatch, Gregor stopped and smiled as he looked at the control console. " That crafty master Chief remotely powered up the runabout while we were talking. " The shuttle bay doors opened and the com channel opened with the Master chiefs voice. =^= USS Eagle, you are clear for departure to SB 308. =^= Gregor keyed the com. " Acknowledged, We'll see you back here in five days. " The shuttle slid into the open vastness of space and laid in a course for SB 308. " Well my love we will be there in two hours and the auto pilot is engaged, now we just kick back and relax until we arrive. "
"That sounds like a lovely idea." Avelina giving a rather brilliant smile and planting a kiss that has a lot of feeling in it. "I love you, I truly do." she said softly and cuddled up to Gregor. She was well on her way with the one she loved and into a new life.
