After another long walk, they finally made it back to the cabin. Sansa helped Hamish into the bed and then went to get something for him to eat. She was footsore and exhausted.

Hamish managed to roll to his side and watched Sansa, then made to move from the bed. "You are tired, don't worry about anything for me to eat right now." He wanted to call her love once again but he just didn't feel it appropriate. Not now anyway, he managed to get to the table in the cabin, remembering the last tie they were there. He just wasn't wanting Sansa to wait on him hand and foot.

"I'll survive, it's you I'm worried about. Whatever that... portal was... really knocked it out of you." She filled a bowl with the stew that had been kept warm and placed it in front of him. "Please eat something."

Hamish gave a nod and began eating his stew, breathing upon it to cool it off before he took a mouthful. As he chewed Hamish looked at Sansa, then said, "Make certain you get something to eat. Then we can talk about what happened."

Sansa had already filled a bowl for herself and sat down next to him. The enormity of the events that had just happened still hadn't fully sunk in.

Suddenly the silence was interrupted by a 'woof' and the patter of tiny feet. Belle who had been asleep was awoken by the smell of food and had come trotting in from the bedroom. Sansa picked up the tiny pup. "Hey there, are you hungry?" she put some of her stew in a separate bowl for Belle who instantly started eating.

Sansa smiled and looked back at Hamish "Ahh the simple life. Eat, sleep, go for walks, get petted."

Hamish chuckled at seeing Belle and Sansa's comment. "A piece of love that keeps on giving. " he sighed and set his spoon down inside his almost empty bowl of stew. "Sansa, I am truly sorry for what has happened. And I am puzzled as to why it happened as well. I wasn't anticipating this when we came down for our shore leave."

Sansa came over and sat down next to him. She looked lovingly into his eyes and tousled his hair with her hand. "I told you, you never have to apologise for who you are my love. This came as something of a shock to me too I must admit. All I ever want for you is your happiness."

"And I want for you is to be happy as well," Hamish replied, with a tired smile. "I just can't believe the great lengths the lady took in order to get help. Why didn't she just out and out ask, instead of trying to drive us apart? Remember when I said no matter what I will come back to you, and I did. I couldn't leave you." Hamish reached a hand towards Sansa.

Sansa thought for a moment as she took his hand in hers. "I suppose she was afraid that you would not help her. Fear is a powerful motivator that can make a person do irrational things. I speak from experience in this matter. The question is what now? Where do we go from here?" She moved closer to him "I don't know what the future holds but I know I want to face it with you."

"Fear can definitely be a big motivator," he replied, Hamish, raising her hand to his lips and placing a gentle kiss. "However, she opened up some topics that we may need to speak about. She got me rather curious now about this devilishly handsome man that you've got a crush on? He must be something special that you've become slightly taken by him. And don't worry I'll do my best not to be jealous." a hint of a teasing gleam in his eyes.

Sansa blushed. "It was just a silly infatuation. It was the first meeting in the wardroom and I was nervous and suddenly this very handsome man was in front of me. He's the brother of the Captain of the Andromeda."

She paused as she struggled to find the right words. "It was.... like a silly schoolgirl crush. It didn't mean anything, I swear."

Hamish chuckled, "Sansa, I've seen images of the Captain of the Andromeda and caught sight of Liam as well. They are handsome fellows and I can't quite blame you for having a crush. I think it is their dynamic personalities that make them attractive besides their looks. Don't worry I am okay with that. You and I are still in the first bloom of our relationship, in some aspects. We are growing closer. Yes, we've had our rocky beginning but I feel that we will be alright. And am hopeful as well."

Sansa looked at him with a loving smile. "I think we're going to be ok too." She stood and held out her hand "Come to bed, you must be exhausted. I know I am."

Hamish took her hand and rose up from the table, he took the bowls to the sink to wash them up before climbing into bed with Sansa. "Now this is heavenly, being here with you."

Sansa pulled herself close to him. "You took the words right out of my mouth."
