L'Kor stepped out the front door of his home and smiled toothily at the site of the smooth, glass like water of the lake in front of him. That and sunset over the lake were the Klingons favorite time of day. Such were the perks of being the Governor of a Federation colony, though he could feel himself getting soft. As he stepped onto his hopper he thought maybe a two day hunt would help him reconnect with his Klingon heritage. As the hopper took off, getting just above the tree line the greying warrior let out a breath and admired the rich green vegitation and crystal blue waters, "you know, Von, if I have to die old and fat at least I do it in paradise," L'Kor joked.

Von, the young Yeoman Apprentice chuckled at the comment as he turned the vehicle, "so, the means another run through the falls on-"

Von was cut off by a blinding green flash that instantly boiled the lake away, filling the sky with a grey mist, "what the hell was that?" he growled and hefted his bulky, 7 foot frame from the small seat, "get me colony security, NOW!"

Von just nodded and quickly opened the comm channel. What he heard made his blood run cold, "oh gods...."

"We are the Borg, you will be terminated, there is no resistance," the collection of voices said.

L'Kor growled, deep and low as he switched through every channel he had. The voices filled every one, however. Outside the hopper groaned as it was pushed past it's red line. In front of them Starfleet fighters took off. L'Kor smiled as they approached the wing, but only momentarily. In another flash the fighters were gone. The Klingons blood boiled, "call Starfl-"

He would never finish that thought, the hopper vaporizing instantly. On the ground screams filled the air, echoing from building to building, tree to tree as the colony residents fled, trying in a futile effort to hide. However, it would end as quickly as it started and the once paradise colony was now a blackened, smoldering crater in the ground and the forests of the planet burned.
