Caroline had heard Wolf was back. Fantastic now she had a team of three!
=^=Miller to Wolf. Would you report to my office please. I could Really do with your help with something.=^=
The Marine smiled as he heard the Counselors voice. He had already been on his way to see her after getting briefed by Melody. As he approached her office door he decided to forego the chime since she'd just called, "I was already on my way," he said with a grin as he entered, 'and I'm betting this is about the dark ones?" he asked, coming to a stop in front of her desk, but, remaining standing out of respect.
“Of course. Maniac evil new player overlords. Fascinating to try profile don’t you think? She responded.
When he arrived Caroline had an awful lot of Padds all around in her office. “We’re you expecting the planet killer to talk back to us?” She asked. “I really wasn’t,” she admitted honestly. “Anyway it’s good to have you back Major.”
"Stranger things have happened," Richard replied with a chuckle and motioned to a nearby chair, "may I?" he asked, "and it's good to be back, I kind of missed it here," he added and motioned to the bulkhead, "it feels like an extended family on this ship."
Caroline nodded at the chair. “You sorted out all you needed too on your break away?” She asked.
Wolf sat down and nodded, "we found my son and he's made a full recovery and back with his squadron," he replied and let out a small sigh, "parenthood has come way to close to giving me heart failure over the years," he added with a chuckle.
"I think you and I can both attest to every parent saying or thinking that at some point. I'm glad to here you found him," she said gently.
"So the dark ones. Theres nothing and everything. Its like every religion has a dark element. Heaven/Hell, Angels/Devils. But theres nothing specific to indicate who our dark ones could be," she said frustratedly.
Johnson nodded and rubbed his chin in thought for a moment, "aye..." he said thoughtfully, "on Earth in twentieth and twenty first centuries some historians believed that those depictions of angels and demons were actually depictions of alien races that visited....there were a lot of cultures that had that same belief as well....." he said and sat forward to find an empty PADD, "a lot of the theories were pretty out there....however, some like the Mayans depictions of their deities might bee helpful?" he offered and handed her the PADD, "or the Navajo star people, we could cross reference both of those with other cultures from other planets?" he offered.
"Navaho had the crystal skulls too. The 13 clan mothers. Their bones turned to crystal after living with them for a long time and the legend goes they buried them all. The star people then came down and took all of them except their skulls. They left these so that we could access their ancient knowledge once more bringing all of them together," Caroline said smiling. She loved this sort of mythology. "But I never heard any stories about the dark ones there."
"Not dark ones directly, but, what about the shadow people myths?" the Marine offered with a smile, enjoying sorting through the myths, "throughout history there are references to a humanoid type figure that is surrounded by black shadow, it is usually on waking up and it was attributed to still being in a semi-dream state, but, what if at least were true?"
"Well I have heard of the old hag syndrome," Caroline said. "Some say its sleep paralysis and your brain just conjures them up. So your theory is they are actually aliens on another plane?"
"There's that one as well, but, shadow people were a separate phenomena," the Marine said and leaned forward, typing on the PADD he had put the other information on before, and handed it back, "among the paranormal community of the time it was thought the shadow people were time travelers, from a different dimension, or alien beings visiting Earth as some type of tourist thing," he explained.
"That's certainly interesting. Imagine, aliens coming for a holiday or browsing shopping," she chuckled. "Perhaps the darkness was for camouflage?" she speculated.
Wolf chuckled himself, "possibly, it might give us a starting point to have the computer match up at least," he offered, "it is a long shot, I know."
"But its a shot. Lets do it," Caroline smiled.
"On another matter, your counselor trained and I find myself in short supply of counselors," her eyes twinkled. "If I can clear it with the Captain, how would you feel putting a couple of days a week in to help me out here?"
Johnson grinned broadly, "I would love to," he replied without hesitation, "anywhere I can help I will he added," happily.
"Excellent," Caroline said happily. "Well lets get too it. See if anything throws up here."
The marine chuckled and stood up, "copy, that, counselor," he replied with a nod, "I'll get an office set up up here for my sessions and get the computer searching," he said then headed out smiling happily, it was good to be back.
