New CFO - Assistant Position Accepted

===== Deck 39, CAG Offices ====

Early in the morning, after her promotion and duty change, Sav arrived in the CAG Offices. She smelled the coffee brewing in her personal Coffee set as well as seeing the rosters set out for the day. She moved around to see Wyn studying the rosters. They were already set for the week as Sav had done that late last night. Sav churred gently, "Hey, Wyn, glad to see you're in early." She nodded towards the roster, "I did that last night, and, that coffee smells heavenly."

Wyn was busying herself preparing the coffee and some pastries. "I couldn't sleep last night, not after what happened in that nebula with that explosion and all. Do you know what happened?" She asked as she handed Sav a cup of steaming java. As she did she paused "I see congratulations are in order, a bit more wight on your collar I see."

Sav gladly accepted the coffee from Wyn. She took a taste, churring, and replied, "This tastes so good. Thanks, Wyn." Her face scrunched up as she said, "Nothing more than anybody else. Still a mystery, and anything dealing with Temporal stuff is always as shift of those involved. Heck, it may not come to pass if you blew your nose this morning, whereas not blowing your nose may cause it to happen." She shook her head as temporal happenings were always so obtuse.

She smiled now to Wyn, saying, "On a good note, yes, I was promoted by Melody last night, thanks for noticing. Umm, are you okay with me gaining the rank?"

Wyn's nose twitched "Of course, I'm happy for you. You deserve it." She replied smiling.

Sav churred, "I put in for you a rank increase to PO3, once you do the applications for it. Oh, you need to also get shuttle maintenance besides fighter. Trust me, it will be a big boost."

Wyn rocked back on her heels "Wow, a promotion for me too. Thank you. I look forward to a challenge." She said as she filled a cup for herself and picked up a pastry.

Sav now raised an eyebrow and said, "Say, wanna take some coffee to the CFO this morning, surprise her?" Sav knew that everybody still expected Melody to be CFO, not realizing that becoming XO, she had to get step out of being CFO.

Wyn had just taken a big bite out of what she was holding so her response came out muffled. She swallowed and tried again "ok."

Sav moved over to grab the coffee set box as Wyn grabbed the coffee tray, pot, and cups. She grinned at Wyn and said, "Let's do this."

Wyn was thinking to herself this was just an excuse to go see Melody this morning. She knew Sav talked a lot about Melody and sensed they were more than 'Just friends'. She gave her a sideways smile "After you."

Sav churred out in humor, responding, "Why, thank yah, thank yah verah much."

The two moved out of the CAG Offices and headed up to deck 5, Flight Control Offices.

===== Deck 5, FC Offices =====

Sav led the way into the FC offices. There was a crewman at the desk who nodded at them. Sav nodded back and led the way to the CFO office. She knocked, then went inside, leading Wyn. She looked around the room, then asked Wyn, "What do you think of this position?"

Wyn set the tray down and glanced around, expecting to see Melody somewhere. "It's a big job, coordinating all flight operations on board, plus you get to fly this beast.." she gestured with her hands to indicate the Merlin, "So i suppose it can't be all bad. But it does sound a lot of work. Melody seems to be on top of things. Speaking of whom, where is she this morning?"

Sav churred gently and moved around to stand behind the desk. She churred and said, "Melody is no longer CFO. She is XO and the CFO duty became temporary till they got it filled. Soooo, who do you think they filled the position with?"

Wyn had just poured two new cups of coffee and handed one to Sav. "Melody's the XO? Wow!" Wyn took a sip of her coffee. "She left some big shoes to fill. You say they've filled the CFO position already?" Wyn had a slight inkling of who it was due to Sav's good mood this morning, but she decided to tease her a bit. "I wonder which chump they got to replace her. Probably some young lieutenant, no practical experience who cant tell impulse from warp speed."

Sav sat down into the chair as she good naturedly looked up at Wyn, "Yup, more than likely, some Luey without a care in the world but loving becoming a department head." She leaned forward and looked at Wyn, "Or, could be a Bridge Command Specialist who stepped down from CAG to become the CFO, which I know you already know by now. What do you think? Does the position suit me?"

Wyn felt joy at Sav getting into the position she was fully trained for, but then also felt sadness at having to lose her superior officer who was more than that. She had really enjoyed being Sav's assistant. She hid away the sadness as she responded, "It is what you trained for, and you seem more at ease now too."

Sav churred and grinned as she slightly blushed, "Thank you. Yeah, this position suits me better. After all, like you said, it is what I trained for. Just, the Captain needed somebody to step into CAG for a bit, and so there I was." She now looked at Wyn with concern in her eyes, "Say, Wyn, as I am no longer CAG.... will you be okay?"

Wyn voiced a silent 'ouch' inside. Sav just asked the million dollar question. "Well, I have to be. I just get down your routine and nigglies and now I have to learn somebody new with their quirks and likes. I just.. I really enjoyed being your assistant. Can I get a final hug, Sir?"

Sav stood up into Wyn's hug, enjoying and supporting her friend and companion. She sighed as she said, "I have really enjoyed having you as an assistant, what would I ever do without you?"

Wyn snorted out in humor, "Oh, misplace your notes, demand better coffee, become a grouch as you learn to do everything yourself, you know, become the typical Department head on board."

Sav drew back from Wyn, a reflective look on her face, "You know, as you said, being Chief of Flight Control is a big responsibility. It may not be as high profile as CAG, but still up there. So, Wyn, are you happy being my assistant? Would you want to transfer from CAG to CFO assistant Position? It's kind of a demotion, not as much work, less people to worry about, probably more free time.. if you're willing..."

An incredulous look crossed Wyn's face. She replied, "Would I? Would I? I would LOVE to do so." Wyn, in thinking about it momentarily, frowned slightly and added, "But, is that even possible? And, how would that look? You having an assistant when the others don't..."

Sav drew back a little, grinning while blushing, "Well, Melody knows how close we are, and how well we work together. Since this is a large line ship, she added an Assistant for each department head, and I surely hoped and wished you would want it, as you have." She surged forward to take Wyn into her arms, "Thanks, Wyn, for staying with me."

Wyn's face grew from astonishment to joy. She could stay with Sav, didn't have to learn somebody new, and could be with the other 'furry' gal on board who understood her culture. She grinned as she said, "Thanks for having me, Sir." She looked around, then said, "Okay, let's get this place more suited for you, and me, eh?"
