Caroline stepped out the sonic shower, dried off and pulled on a top, some shorts and a satin robe. She grimaced as her arms ached and wondered why on earth did she keep seemingly want to run Klingon holodec programmes. She couldn't even remember how and when she had decided to take up Bat'leth and martial arts training.

She walked into her lounge and ordered a glass of red wine from the replicator. Then Melody Jones just walked into her quarters like she had a few nights ago.

Melody sat down on Caroline's couch with a bemused look on her face and held out her hand once again. "You read my mind." She took a deep breath. "I've got to figure out how things..... got away from me."

"Are you talking about ....." Caroline handed her glass of wine to Melody, "Draxx?" she asked slowly making her way back to the replicator to get another.

Melody looked at her friend and nodded "You could say that. He came round to my quarters last night."

"And you had that mature and constructive conversation we discussed, in the calm and adult manner yes?" Caroline asked.

Melody sighed and put her head in her hands. "I ripped my clothes off and threw myself at him like a horny school girl."

Caroline had taken a large mouthful of wine which got sprayed accorss her clean robe. She composed herself, having not expected that. "So does he still make your toes curl then Mel?" she grinned then sat down opposite her.

Melody nodded with her head still resting in her hands. “I don’t know what came over me. It was like the moment he came close, it was like I went into overdrive.” She looked up at Caroline “I wanted......” she thought for a moment as she tried to sort out what she was feeling. “I do love him and I want him in my life and Sansa’s but there’s something else as well, and it’s starting to worry me.” She took a deep drought of her wine. “There are a lot of little things. Sav tells me I zoned out of about twenty seconds the other day and my emotions are...... well in overdrive and I saw an alien face reflected in a console. There was no one there and I’ve never seen this species before but it seemed familiar....”

"Can you create a picture of the alien?" Caroline asked seriously handing her a PADD. "Maybe its something you have seen before thats just been triggered by your unconscious mind," she suggested softly.

Melody started to draw on the PADD, "I don't know Caroline. It was looking at me in a really unsettling way. I can't explain it. It gave me a really creepy feeling. Also sometimes on a night I have woken up still feeling exhausted. Could that be connected?" she asked handing her a rough drawing of a green skinned alien with a menacing expression.

"His face looked distorted like I was looking at him through some liquid or something."

Caroline looked at the alien and nodded. "Yes that make me unnerved too. I keep going to the holodec and playing Klingon battle novels Mel. And I can't remember when I decided to learn how to use a Bat'leth. Don't you think thats weird?"

Melody looked at her friend with concern, that was most un-Caroline. "I thought counselors were meant to help. This is not reassuring me,"

Caroline smiled weakly. "Okay Draxx. You love him and you want him in your life. What about Sav'ena?"

Melody took a deep breath, "I'll always have feelings for Sav but now that Sansa is in the picture and Draxx seemed to have really changed since we were together onboard the Sarek. Its like he's grown up. I've decided I want to have a proper go at this family thing as I never got the chance as a kid as you know."

"And Draxx wants that now too?" Caroline asked.

"He gave me jewelry Caroline and said he missed me like crazy. And he's completely uprooted his life and has even taken a reduction in position to be with me and Sansa. That shows he's ready for a real commitment. And I think I am too. With Sav I would always be one of many. With Draxx, I have him all to myself. Is that selfish of me? I don't want to hurt Sav but this is how I feel," she said honestly.

"Its not selfish. Sav will understand and if I know her at all, she will step back and do the right thing. Like you said it was always going to be some bigger more complicated alien marital/ family I'm not sure the right word," Caroline said, "cluster???? with Sav and I think eventually you would have got bored of not being number one or having to fight for her attention amongst the others. You will always be friends."

Melody nodded and took another sip of her wine. “I know. I’ll have to talk to Sav.” She pulled out the necklace that Draxx has given her. “Draxx said it was suppose to change colour but it stays gray when I put it on. What Colour dose it go for you?”


Caroline took it from her friend and looked at it. "Its beautiful. Hang on," she put the necklace around her neck. "Nothings happening. Maybe Draxx got hussled?" she suggested.

Melody frowned, “Or its broken. Another bottle of wine?”
