First Officer....... I'm still getting use to that. And a promotion as well. Not long ago I was a fresh faced Cadet and now I'm the second in command of one of the Federations most important starships. I wish mom and dad could see me now.

I had that dream again where I saw my mother. Got chance to talk to her more this time. I know it's just a dream, but it really felt like I was talking to my mother and not some part of me. It made me feel a lot better to get a chance to talk to her.

The Merlin is currently docked at Starbase 306 for overhaul of some of the warp drive components and a major upgrade of the main computer. Starfleet has decided to use us as a test bed for the new AI that they are hoping to roll out across the fleet. I'm not sure I'm happy about being used to try an untested system. I must pop down and have a talk with our new Chief Engineer about these upgrades.

Spending a lot more time with Save'ena which is great. Had a fantastic day shopping and taking in the sights of the new Starbase. I tried to tell her how I feel today but....... I totally choked. I've got to tell her how I feel .

As well as dreaming about my mother, had a really weird dream about Save'ena and another me...... Well it want really me. It's so hard to remember dreams sometimes. Amy.... something, but she looked exactly like me. Something about fish fingers and custard and Save'ena. She played a big part in my dream. I think this is my subconscious telling me to just tell her. My mother told me something similar when I dreamt about her. At the end I looked like Save'ena as well. It was really weird!

I've decided I'm going to have a practice run on the holodeck first so I've written a program with a holographic Save'ena. This was I can tell her how I feel and get some feedback without getting hurt or spoiling our friendship.

That's the last thing I want to do!
