ON:
John had come out of his ready room and was heading for his command chair when a thought hit him, they had a historian on board. So, he'd left Melody in command and decided to go get a consultation in the ship's library with Mister Carson. This was Barstows first visit to the library and the first thing that hit him was the smell of the paper. It was fresh smelling and cancelled out the smell of the ship's recycled air. Apollo smiled as he looked around the huge room at all the books, something darkly seen in the digital age where everyone wanted the answers at their fingertips. The Commander walked to the center of the room and picked up a nearby book, thumbing through the pages slowly, oblivious to what was around him as he did so.

Carson, who had just finished transferring another one of his text to the computer looked up from his desk "Ah, good evening Captain. A pleasant surprise, what can I do for you?"

Apollo turned surprised and smiled as he sat the book her been looking through down, "Mister Carson, I'm sorry, I got caught up in the book," he said then walked over and sat on the edge of a nearby table, "I was wondering if you might be able to help me out. What have you heard about our current situation already?" he asked, not wanting to go over anything the man may already know.

"I've heard several crew member taking about a crashed ship that's been found on the asteroid that's possibly Romulan." Carson said as he took a sip of his tea "No specific information I'm afraid. How can I help Captain?"

"Well," John started and let out a breath slowly, "we don't know for sure where it's from, it could be Vulcan too. I wanted to find out if you could do some research for me on a ship named Tri'jema. I'm not sure about a time frame, but, it's old, really old."

Carson frowned at the name. "That rings a bell. One moment please."

He went around a corner and came back with a rather large tome. "I wrote a study on early Vulcan culture some time ago and I came across a mention of a ship that was lost. Yes, here we are. They was a large group banished from Vulcan for embracing emotion. Choosing to travel under the banner of the Raptor. These outcast would eventually become the Romulan star empire. The ship you mention was one of their scout ships. I'm afraid specific details are not present. It seams the Vulcan turned their backs on these people after they were cast out. I, however was intrigued so I dug a little deeper"

He pulled out another book from his desk draw. "I Managed to get a look at the Romulan history database after the Dominion War ended. Here it is, the Tri'jema. Last reports have it looking for a suitable planet for colonization. It was never heard from again."

Carson closed the book and removed his reading glasses "Fascinating. Not Vulcan, not Romulan but with elements of both. Very aggressive, highly intelligent and some rumours of using their telepathic abilities to attack people."

"Gods, I hope not. That'd be all we need," Apollo replied with a sigh, "the Vulcans said they don't know anything but they're sending a ship and the Romulan said the same....we've got a request in to the Romulan Senate for information, but I'd like to know if they leave anything out. Could you do some research on the ship, crew and their mission?"

Carson pondered for a moment, taking another sip of tea. "A lot of records were lost when Romulus was destroyed but I still have one or two friends in the new Romulan government. I'll look into the matter immediately, but it could take some time. Oh! Where are my manners. Would you like a cup of jasmin tea?"

"I'd appreciate that," Apollo replied before standing, "and no, thank you though. I should get back to the Bridge before they think I went to Take a nap," he added with a chuckle, "I just wanted to get your input, you're a valuable resource."

"That's very gratifying to hear Captain, Thank you" Carson said rising from his chair. "I'll get in touch with my sources and I will let you know what I can find out. Would you like me to bring the information to you on the bridge?"

The CO nodded, "yes, please. We have survivors over there and I don't want it going out over ships comms, I'm trying to keep that part as quiet as possible," he explained, "I appreciate it, Carson," Barstow added with a smile.

Carson raked an eyebrow "Survivors! After all this time? Captain, I would advise extreme caution. These people have never seen a human, they thought that they were a support form of life, typical Romulan arrogance. Also according to my sources in the new Romulan government, several factions who are unhappy with the Fedearation treaty are fighting for power. They believe that they must return to older times in order to survive. If one of them realise what we have, things could get very ugly....."

"I know, I've already warned Doctor Miller and told the away team the survivors are not to be woken," Apollo replied with a nod, "history is to full of issues coming from waking sleepers," he added, he wasn't a very good student of history, but, he did pay some attention in those classes.

"Indeed Captain" Carson agreed "I'll get that information to you as soon as possible."
