Velin walked down the corridor a padd in one hand as he approached the doors to main engineering. He looked at the doors a long moment before he stepped into range of the sensor and they slid apart to display a sight that made him smile. It wasn't a large smile or even a noticeable one for most people but for anyone that knew him he may as well have been grinning ear to ear. Every control panel was dissembled many housings had been removed and the heart of the ship if he were a poetic person lay bare as they proceeded with the upgrades.

He walked through the workers and stood at the master systems display console looking everything over before turning and saying in a loud enough voice to be heard, "Excuse me. Everyone can i just get your attention for a moment. " Everyone looked up to him and while the experience wasn't exactly pleasant he had prepared himself for it. "I don't wish to keep you from your work. My name is Lt Velin Ikiri I am the new Chief engineer and i will be working closely with all of you to ensure this ship operates at peak efficiency. Now we all have a lot of work to do so lets get back to it." He nodded and walked forward finding his assistant chief a Bolian. "Ensign, lets go over where we stand on this upgrade and I'll lay out my plans for this refit as we continue.

The man nodded and for the next few hours they talked about plans and implementations before they set off to work.
