Location: Transporter room / Quarters

As the transporter effect diminished, Melody found herself in a slightly more modern transporter room than she had just left. Everything in the room shined and Melody just took a moment to glance around the room.
“Welcome aboard Lieutenant.” The transporter operator cut in from behind his console “New assignment? If so please log in with the computer.”
“Computer “She stated “Please recognise Jones, Melody. Lieutenant Junior Grade”
“Identity confirmed, change of assignment confirmed. Welcome aboard. Quarters located Deck 4, section 21 Alpha, room 004. All new officers must report to the Commanding officer”
She turned back to the transporter operator “Thanks chief” she said with a warm smile
“Would you like me to beam that to your quarters?” He asked.
“No thanks” She replied “I’ll drop it off on my way to see the CO, just want a quick look. See you around” and with that she walked out into the corridor.
For the last few weeks she had buried herself in the specifications of her new assignment and quickly found the nearest turbo lift.
“Deck 4, section 21 Alpha” and with that the lift began its upward motion. Deck 4 she though, at least I don’t have far to walk to the holodecks.
Stopping on deck 4 she walked into her new quarters and placed her travel bag on the desk, noting with satisfaction that all her personal items had made the trip in one piece. Due to her new rank, her quarters now were slightly bigger than she was used to and she wandered from the living area which included a desk and terminal, dining table, into the bedroom with its large comfortable looking bed then back again pausing at the replicator.
“One raktajino with a hint of vanilla please”
The replicator hummed into life and she picked up the steaming mug; however when she took a sip her nose wrinkled slightly.
“Hmmm I’m going to have to tweak that slightly.” She said out loud to her self.
The computer chimed in “Please restate request.”
She sighed “I wasn’t talking to you. Computer, have all my personal files been transferred from the Starbase?”
“File transfer complete.” The computer responded “All personal files as well as personal database fully accessible at this time”
“Good” and with that she turned and looked down at the rectangular animal habitat with was located on the floor near the back wall
“Computer, what is the status of the suspended animation transport?”
The computer replied “The suspended animation transport is functioning normally. Subject ‘Nibbles’ vital signs are within norms. Would you like to revive at this time?”
“Unfortunately, I’ve not got the time at the moment. Are there any messages for me?”
“All new officers and crew must report to sickbay for regulation physical”
Great! Just great she thought. ‘Another doctor asking questions.’
Placing her mug back into the replicator she headed back out towards the turbolift
