ON:

Melody had found a table tucked away in a corner. She gestured for Sav to take a seat when a Klingon waiter came over. He looked at the two female officers and said with a sneer "You know our food is not for the fain of heart."

Melody rose slowly and locked eyes with him "You think we're not strong enough, pahtak!"

A deadly look crossed his face as he stepped closer to Melody and looked her up and down for a moment. Melody, not flinching returned his gaze.

Sav was confused, but stayed out of whatever was happening, at least, right now. This might be part of the 'Klingon' experience for the restaurant, or might not. She narrowed her eyes to watch as she got ready just in case, her climbing claws coming out even as she shifted to spring past Melody.

After a moment, he erupted into a belly laugh "I like you, you show spirit" and threw his arms around her in a bear hug.

He then released her "What would you like?"

Melody smiled and tried not to wince as she sat back down again "Bring us some Bregit lung, a Heart of targ, some Pipius claw, a Rokeg blood pie and a big bowl of Gagh" She turned to Save'ena "I thought we could get a few dishes to see what you like the best, sound good? oh and....." Addressing the waiter again "A couple of bottles of blood wine, 2309"

When Melody turned to her, Sav nodded at her 'sound good', but did not get a word in as Melody had returned to talking to the waiter.

The waiter nodded "Good choices, I will return" and with that he turned and left.

Sav drew in a breath, then exhaled. "So, it WAS part of the 'Klingon' experience." She brought her hands up to show Melody claws extended. "I.. ummm, was ready, just in case." The claws now retracted back into her hands, between the fingers and thumbs as she blushed lightly.

Melody raised an eyebrow "Its ok Sweetie. I had heard there some...... Well. It's good to know that you've got my back."

Sav glanced over at the waiter's backside, then returned her attention to Melody. "I do like what you ordered, I think. At least, lung, heart, and claw sound good to me. The rest, I haven't a clue. My only hope is there are veggies besides the meat. My race is generally an omnivore type, but more into veggies and meats rather than grains. Humans are omnivore as well, so it comes down to individual taste. So, have you tried this food before?"

"when I was the academy a few of us went to a Klingon restaurant in San Francisco. It was....... an experience."

The waiter came back first with 2 silver mugs and 3 bottles of blood wine. Melody opened one and filled both mugs. Passing one to Sav "Cheers Sweetie."

Sav held it up, "Salute, Melody." She brought it up to her nose and the first thing she noticed was the strength of the alcohol, even with her dulled senses. She cautiously took a sip. It was similar to Bacardi 151 mixed with a bright red Syrah blend of wine. And, it was warm, which meant the alcohol would travel that much faster into a sentients body. She swallowed then churred lightly to Melody, "Umm, Melody? Be careful drinking this. Klingon's figured out a way to mix a nice Syrah blend with Bacardi 151, and keep the proof almost to the level of the 151. I don't want us drunk for the rest of our shopping, okay?"

Melody took a large swig of blood wine "Don't worry about me Sweetie, I've always had rather a high tolerance for alcohol."

The waiter came back with a large tray and filled the table with several bowls, the last of which was the gagh. It was easy to recognize. A large mass of serpent worms which were still moving. Melody joked "You better try that before it crawls away!" She handed a serving spoon to Sav "Just try a bit of everything, ok"

Sav nodded as she looked over the array of foods. She decided she better access her wrist computer to make sure nothing here was poisonous to her. The Gagh came back as Torgud gagh, gagh that wiggles. out of the 51 types. Also, although most Klingons preferred it live, it could also be served stewed or cold. And, while the actual taste of gagh was revolting, even to Klingons, it was eaten solely for the unique sensation of their death-throe spasms within one's mouth and stomach.

Fortunately, or unfortunately as the case may be, Sav was stuck in a rain northern rain forest in summer garments after having escaped from Seniors who she thought were trying to tie her up, even though they were releasing their mickeyed 'prey' to exchange survival gear for articles of clothing. She had eaten different crawly things to survive for a couple of days, so, she would try the Gagh. She picked one up and threw it into her mouth, munching it quickly, then swallowing. While it didn't make any sound, it sure did 'spasm' when crushed and chewed, finally kicking the bucket after a few chews. The taste... the taste had very little of the scat taste of found forest critters. It seemed that the restaurant wanted to make the gagh more 'enjoyable' for patrons and kept the gragh prepared in a wine soaked Terran compatible bedding.

Still.. Sav held up her hand for the waiter to come over.

He returned "Is there something I can do for you?"

Sav grabbed another Torgud Serpent Worm and threw it in her mouth, "While the sensation of the death throes is fine, the taste would be better enhanced in a root stew to bring out the subtle flavors and the essence of the death of all of them at once. So, tell the cook to make a good Torgud gagh stew, or I'll come looking for him." Sav opened her muzzle slightly to show her needle like, razor sharp front teeth as well as bringing up a hand to extend her climbing claws.

The waiter gave a nod of respect and took the plate of Gagh away.

Melody grabbed his arm before he could go "While I agree with my friend here that the stew dose sound nice, I quite like the lives ones as well" and she grabbed rather a large handful and popped them on her plate before the waiter took the rest away.

Sav watched the waiter go, then she turned to Melody. "Umm, I hope that was okay and fitting?"

"That was perfect Sweetie. They do say that the only people that can deal with Klingons are Klingons. I think we're not doing to bad" she added with a wink.

Sav took a knife and fork and cut off a piece of Bregit lung. She tasted it, and realized it was actually authentic haggis, sheep lung prepared the Scottish way. Her wrist computer stated the dish could be made from the breathing apparatus of any number of animals, according to Klingon sources. She liked it. Next thing she tried was the Heart of Targ. It was rare, on a bed of greens. She scanned it with her wrist computer and found it to be from an imported boar without exposure to trichinosis. She tried a taste. It was okay, she would have preferred it cut up and served in a stew. Moving onto the Pipius claw, it looked like Chicken's feet. But, the taste was more like crayfish. She loved it. Finally, there was the Rokeg blood pie. It was a baked dish, and consisted of some sort of pastry coating over a meat and blood mixture. She loved Chorizo, so she figured she might like this. She did. Of course, to her, it needed some mushrooms and shallots baked with it to give it more oomph.

She smiled to Melody, "I love the Pipius claw and Bregit lung. I like the Rokeg blood pie, and the Heart of Targ.. I would prefer as a stew, raw like this doesn't lend much to its flavor." She used her front teeth to easily snip off flesh from a Pipius claw, "What are you're favorites?"

Melody was just polishing off the live gagh that she had rescued from the waiter. "It's all good. Hhhhmmmmmm, I wonder if Nibbles would like gagh? He likes worms. Mind you, I'm not sure if a terran hedgehog should be eating Klingon food.

A funny smile crossed Melody features "My academy friend seemed to loose their appetite at the sight of live gagh. I seem to remember winning a pretty hefty wager that night."

Sav churr-laughed at the thought of others losing their appetite at the site of mere serpent worms. Of course, cooked was better, but still, "I can see you doing that, too." She thought for a second, then said, "On Nibbles and gagh, I would think okay. If fit for terran, I would think fit for hedgehog, expecially as he will eat not cleaned worms."

Sav ate some more of those dishes she enjoyed, and then made room for the gagh stew the waiter was returning with. She now growled to him, "This better be worth it, or I go hunting..."

Melody chuckled as the waiter placed the bowl in the table. Melody raised an eyebrow "Was it worth it Sweetie?" she asked as Save'ena sniffed the stew.

Sav had a grin appear across her face. "Smell's heavenly. Now to try it.." She took a bite, nodding, "Yeah, worth it. These serpents absorb some of the spices, and it brings out their natural flavor. A little woodier than rattlesnake. And, yes, I love rattlesnake stew. The root vegetables are cooked perfectly, not mush, not undercooked, and the flavor has a nice bite behind it."

Melody took a spoonful of the stew and tried it also. "Mmmmmmm, very nice."

The two finished their meal, Sav's tail flicking in delight as well as erotic churrs sounding from her. What she did not know was those churrs, her luxurious tail, and innate desire to help and please others was what made Mephetians a sought after, rare commodity, on the black markets.

"Soooo, where do you want to explore next?" Melody asked as she took another draught of blood wine.

Sav took a sip of hers. She had been sipping through the meal, enjoying the blood wine mingling with the food. Of course, she only finished her one glass as Melody had several. Sav didn't mind, she knew Melody could handle it. She stretched, "I definitely can go for a walk. So, what do you want to explore? I usually am by myself going to tech shops, or running wingman to clothes stores as the ladies discuss their beau's and latest gossip for upcoming parties."

Melody pushed her now empty plate away from herself "That sounds lovely Sweetie."

Sav motioned the Waiter over. She grinned to him, "Gagh Stew, rough, hardy, not elegant... tell the cook, perfect. Thank you. And I do believe, Melody is buying, hmmm?"

Melody stood "I'll go and sort this out, wont take long" and she followed the waiter. She returned shortly "All set, ready to go?" she asked Save'ena.

The two left onto their next shopping adventure, and to walk off the meal.
