Sav kept her gaze looking down at her hands as she sat waiting for Vice Admiral Yu Xsin Chen to become available. She and Kachiko were in a waiting area in the Anteroom with the Admiral's assistant. The Male Vulcan Yeoman was pleasant enough, but still a Male, and Kachiko and she were going to be visiting an ADMIRAL, and even though female and Half Vulcan, still... and ADMIRAL. Sav took a breath in, then let it out, trying to keep her thoughts fully on what Kachiko had said about the pleasant lady within the office beyond the doors.
"Captain," the assistant deadpanned. "The Vice-Admiral will see you now."
Sav looked up at the words from the Assistant and stood up. She nodded to him and turned to look at Kachiko, with a hopeful look on her face for Kachiko to lead the way. After all, Kachiko was friends with Admiral Chen, and so that would help in calming Sav's jitters after they entered Yu's office.
Kachiko nodded at the Vulcan Lieutenant, before looking up at Sav, "Follow along, Cadet."
Sav stood up and replied, "Yes, Ma'am." She followed dutifully behind Kachiko, very glad the Captain was there and was friends this the Admiral they were going to meet.
Stepping through the glass doors into the large office of the Vice-Admiral, Kachiko smiled and stepped forward to very briefly embrace the taller half-Chinese half-Vulcan Flag Officer.
A light churr sounded from Sav at seeing the informal way the two greeted each other. This display definitely helped assuage Sav's misgivings at being in the presence of Admiralty once more. Now, it was female friends greeting each other with one curious about her.
The Admiral's voice was deeper and throatier than expected, given the woman's slender build, "Kachiko. I see that you brought the Cadet up. Thank you."
Sweeping forward, the very senior officer seemed to look about Sav, taking in her build, face, fur and tail. Stepping back a half step, she offered Sav a faint smile, "Welcome to Earth, Cadet. I apologize. I have long heard tales of your species but have never had the opportunity to meet one of you before."
Sav watched Yu Xsin with curiosity herself. Her ears followed Yu Xsin about her even as her head tilted following the Admiral's assessment of her. Her tail shook once when Yu Xsin took the step back with the little smile. She replied, "No apologies necessary, Ma'am. I found your scrutiny interesting and different from some I have endeared in the past." She blushed, then asked, "Did I live up to your expectations?"
"I find that I am not disappointed," Yu Xsin turned about to return to her desk. As she sat, she gestured to the chairs before her desk, "Please, sit."
Sav giggled churred at Yu Xsin's comment. She gladly came forward, turned the rightmost chair, the one to Yu Xsin's left, completely around. She now sad down in the chair as she apologized, "Sorry about turnin' the chair around.. Most Humanoid chairs don't account fer mah tail." Sav slipped a little into her Apollonia native accent.
"That is quite alright, Cadet," was the Flag Officer's response, an amused smile crossing her lips. "Once you are out in the Fleet, you will find that customization is easier and more accepted. Chairs in your quarters can be modified on request. I imagine that Captain Bayushi will be able to handle such requests for you."
"We try to be accommodating towards students of all builds and ability," Kachiko smiled as she finally took a seat across from her friend of twenty years. Yu Xsin had definitely outpaced her, career wise, but that wasn't a point of contention at all. Kachiko had absolutely no Command aspirations, content in her role as a hard nosed Jarhead.
Sav churred gently, the erotic and exotic sound sounding out in the enclosed space of the office. She focused her attention on Yu Xsin with her ears and whiskers, saying, "Thank you for that info, Ma'am. It's nice to have a Chair to relax in the right way once in a while." She turned to Kachiko and replied, "Thank you, Ma'am. I'll let you know." She now returned her attention to Yu Xsin.
Yu Xsin frowned, "I had some questions about where you came from, Cadet. I have sources that indicate that there are some very unpleasant and a illegal activities taking place on your home world. I would like to hear from you about your experience so that we could ensure that it cannot continue?"
The frown caused a slightly confused look upon Sav's muzzle and face. At the words for 'where you came from', a slightly pleasant expression came over Sav's muzzle as the thought about the L'Tandrey Protectorate and what that society was like. The next words though caught her totally off guard as she knew of no illegal activity on the Mephetian homeworld. "Ma'am? My Mom and Dad never mentioned any illegal activity on Mephetia in the L'Tandrey Protectorate. The Protectorate is aggressive in keeping illegal acti.. vi... ties... " It dawned on Sav what Yu Xsin meant. As Sav was born on Apollonia, that was her 'home world'. "Oh... Apollonia, you mean Apollonia."
"Yes," Yu Xsin nodded, her expression blank and emotionless. "There's thing not otherwise listed in the file or other reports."
Sav could feel the imprints within her rubbing their hands in glee as they once more prepared to make sure Sav only said what the Courts decreed she could say, to accept that their imprinted memories were the real ones, and not those pesky memories buried within her core that they could not get to, as of yet, to erase. It hurt her, to her very core, to always tell the lies that the imprints were about, but, nothing could be done. A dejected look came over Sav as she swallowed and prepared herself for the slashing within her to happen.
Sav took a breath, weakly smiled to Yu Xsin, and then let the words flow from her. "There were no illegal activities being done by His Honored Aristocrat Andrew Thompson or his Eminent Federation Representative Councilman Diostros Eurytlus of Apollonia. The complaints and stories were withdrawn as the fantasy imaginings of a Raver Teenager Girl seeking attention after having suffered a traumatic accident with heavy bloodloss on the Reputable Aristocrat Thompson's island estate, as determined by the StarFleet Counselors of the Esteemed StarFleet Strom Thurman Medical Research Center. All evidence, statements, and court documents are bound and sealed in Accordance by Apollonia Superior District Court, Swamp District 9. There will be no further inquiries into this matter as decreed by StarFleet JAG Offices and the StarFleet Admirals' Caucus."
During her spiel, Sav's voice was monotone and slightly exasperated. In her lap, out of sight to the Admiral at least, her hands twitched a couple of times even as her tail grew fuller in appearance. Within her mind, she could still see Diostros' and Andrew's Admiral friends, Judge Buddies, and Lead Admiral and on down Docs at the Strom Thurman Medical Research Center discussing her as she was wheeled out of the court room after having lodged her complaints and then to her recovery room at the Center, next to face the damage control Psychic Counselors. Aristocrats, Judges, Counselors, Diplomats, Admirals, oh my. She glanced at Yu Xsin's rank and twitched, but managed to still anything else. Now done with her rote words, she looked at Yu Xsin with regret even as her muzzle blushed slightly, whispering, "Sorry, Ma'am."
The Vice-Admiral did not look convinced, "Captain, I believe that there's more going on than the Cadet claims. Please pass my blessing on to the Intelligence team leader and tell him that he is authorized to proceed."
The light red under the muzzle fur of Sav now burned a deeper red. She could feel herself wailing inside for having to tell the lie within the truth again. Yes, the court's did seal everything off. And, no, it was not her imaginings of what happened, but the truth. She only hoped that this intelligence team leader that Yu Xsin was talking about would find something, but, probably not. However, on a side note, it actually felt good for a StarFleet someone to take an interest in a Civy from a dispute with a Fed Council Rep, a Fed ranked Aristocrat, and their Admiral buddies. Or, was it because she was a Cadet now that Yu Xsin took interest? Sav felt an icicle of cold strike through her.
Turning her attention back to Sav, the elder Officer looked apologetic, "I don't know what happened to you there, Cadet. However, we will get to the bottom of it."
Sav felt tears flow down her cheeks as she heard her voice respond with the Rote's again, "I was rescued by his Eminence Federation Representative Councilman Diostros Eurytlus of Apollonia before death and taken care of by the Esteemed StarFleet Strom Thurman Medical Research Center from falling on Debris when my harness.. no harness?.. failed?.. just fallen?.. and I bled out from being trapped under broken sheets of metal while impaling myself on a jut of scrap metal over and over. The matter is closed and there is nothing to get to the bottom of, as decreed by the Courts and Starfleet." Inwardly, Sav snorted in humor to herself as three of the heavy Psi counselors had imprinted conflicting stories about that stupid harness. One was it failed, one was she wasn't wearing one, and one was she was drunk and in her birthday suit, all while working on circuits on Andrew's yacht. Like a Mephetian would ever fall from a height, right. At least, this time, she didn't mention the very embarrassing naked story.
"Dismissed. Please step out and await Captain Bayushi for your return to your quarters."
Sav jerked at the 'Dismissed'. She stood up, saying, "Ma'am, Yes Ma'am. Sorry for troubling you." She turned the chair around absentmindedly, stepped a pace back, then performed a beautiful about face.
Sav strode out of the Vice-Admiral's office, then went and sat down in a chair to wait for Captain Bayushi... umm in her mind, so, Kachiko, to have time to be with her friend without Sav's presence interfering. She shifted in her seat, feeling out the pad within her panties to see if it needed changed yet, it didn't, and now waited in a proper sitting stance for her Advisor.
Kachiko suddenly reappeared through the office doors, eyes immediately falling on the Cadet, "Let's go, doll."
Sav perked up at hearing 'doll' and a light churr sounded out from her. She was not certain what her status was with Kachiko after having to say what she did, but Kachiko's greeting helped alleviate a lot of her fears. She stood up, a light smile now upon her muzzle, as she responded, "Definitely, Kachiko." As the two walked out of the waiting area and toward the exit of the Admin building, Sav sighed, "I hope I didn't get you into trouble with your friend."
Kachiko sighed, "Sav. We know that something happened to you on Apollonia. There's been a long running investigation underway. The Admiralty did what they did because we didn't want the Marshall's investigation interfering with ours."
"So, being grabbed out of emergency surgery by StarFleet to be taken to the Medical Research center was due to the investigation? But, why for.... for.... nothing." Sav sighed. She couldn't even talk about the counseling and what they did. "Sorry Kachiko, I can only say what I am allowed... this sucks. So, how is your friend involved?"
"The Vice-Admiral was the Chief of Ninth Fleet Operations and then the Fleet Intelligence director. She initiated this investigation before moving to the Academy on her way to retirement," Kachiko stepped outside onto Academy grounds.
Sav followed her, going down the steps and onto the path that would take them back to the dormitories. She still had to meet her new roommate. Within Sav's mind, she could only hope they found something, if only to rescue others who were in what had been her plight, before they were fully brainwashed or killed. She thought about herself, then decided to try a different tact, to talk about her sister. So, she said, "Good, I hope they find out what goes on. I don't think I would want my sister to ever be kidnapped and forced into training to become a sex slave and then to become the star in a snuff film. Just... saying."
A look of surprise was over Sav as she was able to say that. Then again, the imprints had to allow for discussions on many topics, sooo, since she said something hypothetical about her sister, it must have passed muster.
Kachiko didn't look up at the Cadet, but her dark eyebrow climbed higher and higher as the Cadet seemed to unwittingly part with pertinent clues. Slavery? Snuff films? This was bigger than previously realized!
Up ahead was the B dorm where Sav's room was on the seventh Level, room 731. The room was a simple, small affair with two sets of bunk beds.
As they stopped at the hatch to Berthing Space 731, in traditional Naval parlance, the spritely Marine looked up at Sav, "We are on your side, Sav. This much you can bank on. You are in my care and I take good care of my Cadets. You can trust the Vice Admiral. She is a good lady and a great officer. I know, I have known her since we shared a room back in our Academy days. We just ended up with very different career paths."
"I used to be a Security Officer and the Admiral and I both hate injustice and we have reason to believe that things are not right on Apollonia," Kachiko lightly pat the Cadet's arm.
"Muster is on the parade deck at 0700," Kachiko told the girl. "Sleep well, Cadet."
