Sansa sat in the crew lounge waiting for Sav'ena. She knew she was meeting her mom for lunch so she had asked her to meet twenty minutes earlier as she needed to talk to her before Melody arrived.

Sav approached the officer lounge. She was, of course, dressed for duty as she was helping Miles with repairs about the ship, besides the corp of Engineers Melody had brought with her. While her 'Uniqueria' persona had only seemed to come out during very specific events occurring, that it was there caused her a lot of angst, and in not knowing when that persona might appear again, she stayed on ship and away from the research vessel. She was not sure why Sansa had asked for time with her, but, she loved the Kitling as her own and would gladly meet with her before Melody joined in. She shook herself an entered the lounge.

Seeing Sav walk in, Sansa waved her over.

Sav came over to Melody's Kitling and churred out a "Greetings and Salutations, Kitling Sansa. Great to meet with you." She leaned over to give Sansa a hug with a kiss on her forehead, whispering, "Tis a pleasure, always."

Sansa hugged Sav "Hey there, good to see you too."

Sav took a seat as her tail shook once, then twice. She grinned to Sansa saying, "That's mah signahl tah get us some drinks, ayuh. Ah crewmahn will be ovah shortly. So, how isa yer day goin', mah dahrlin'?"

Sansa sighed "I'm ok........ It's Mom........." She looked straight at Sav, "What happened last night? What did you say to her? Look I know my Mom, I can read her like a book. I know when she's happy, when she angry at me and ........... and .................... and when she's heartbroken."

She paused to let that sink in.

Sav was taken aback by the questions and information given by Sansa. It was NOT what she was expecting for the lunch. She was hoping to getting to know Melody again as a lot of their intimacy and plans occurred during the trip to the Nebula, a time now gone from Melody's past. Mostly. The body changing incident occurred during the beginning of the trip to the Perez Nebula, yet Melody remembered it. How could..? Sav was so unsure of where Melody was in her memories and thoughts, and now Sansa was saying Melody was heartbroken. Sav's body twitched as she tried to keep focus on Sansa and what the 13 year kitling was saying.

Sansa continued, "She walked back into our quarters last night in a daze, then she split a double portion of Rocky road with me. Rocky road! She only breaks that out when things are bad..... she mentioned something called The Kobayashi Maru last time. Now, even I can tell mom has feeling for you so what are we going to do about it?"

Sav closed her eyes, her hair laying down along her body and tail instead of having its usual bounce. She swallowed her thickened spittle, buying a little time as she tried to unstuck her frozen mind and try to answer Sansa. She managed to open her eyes and once again take in the defiant Kitling looking across at her. She replied, "Ah.. am glad sheun still has feelin's fer me. Ah was not reahlly sure, Kitling. She came tah mah room dressed nicely, ana then joked, then seemed tah want me, then tah grow distant, then rejected me ana left... or how it felt tah meah, anyways."

Sansa listen to Sav was saying, a frown forming on her face. "That's not the impression I got of Mom. But then again, getting her to say how she really feels can be........" He voice trailed off. "She hears but not always listens. I know she was looking forward to seeing you, and more. I think some wires got crossed in communication."

Sav swallowed once more, then followed up with, "Ah.. ama mess, Sansa. An... Ah am not sure where Melody is in herun memories asa she wasa tahken from me before our closeness ona way tah Perez Nebula... yet... somehow, she remembers t'e body switchen incident, which was durin t'at time." Sav's right arm and tail twitched again as she finished with, "Ah don't know where she is ina her knowledge ana feelin's fer me. Ah gave her ah choice tah get closer within me, or to distant herself tah be friends rahght now... ana she chose distance an' friends, rejectin' the recoverin' me. Now, she is ah wreck... ana Ah'm tah blame.. another notch in mah social life, worse tah even worse.... Ah don't know what tah do next.. Ah had seven yeahrs ofa socializin' taken from me... Ah don't know... ana Ah don't wana take away from yer growin' up yeahrs eitheh, Sansa. Youen shouldna have tah do t'is, it isa fer Mum ana Ah tah work out."

Sansa smiled at Sav and placed her hands onto of hers. "I know my Mom will always be there for me no matter what. I also want her to be happy and I know You make her happy. I'll give you too some time alone. Don't give up on her just yet."

Sav snorted out in slight humor and replied, "Ah have neveh given up ona her, ana Ah neveh will. Ah will try again, honest."

Sansa stood. "I Know that....... Woah....." She shut her eyes suddenly as a wave of dizziness passed over her. She had to grab hold of Sav to stop herself falling to the floor. Also a feeling like she was dropping fast."

Sav stood up with Sansa in good manners. She put her arms around Sansa as the young Kitling suddenly staggered and grabbed her. She held onto her close, rubbing over her hair, as she asked, "What isa wrong? Do yah need mehdical?" However, as she stroked over the kitling, she noticed that her head was now closer to her chin, yet nothing had changed. She remembered that Sansa was actually less than two years old, yet was 13, so, she grew a bit, quickly, the borg and maturation process energies still at work. That being in mind, she added, "Ah can go with yah, if yah want."

Sansa shook off the feeling. "No, no I'm fine. Just stood up too fast that's all. I'll go to our quarters and lie down. Mom will be here soon. Lets keep what we were talking about between us for now and think about it, ok?"

Sav gave Sansa a hug before letting go of her. She replied, "Ova course, Ah will work on it wit' yer Mum ana I. Ana, Sansa, measure yerself when yah get t'e yah quarters... yah will be surprised, ayuh."

Melody walked into the lounge just as Sansa was walking out. She smiled at her daughter "Hey there Sweetie, what you doing here?"

"Oh, i was just getting something for lunch."

"Do you want to join me and Sav'ena?"

"Oh its OK, I've got some studies to do. I'll see you later?"

Melody gave Sansa a hug "Ok Sweetie." She paused for a moment. Was she wearing heels? Sansa was already heading out the door. Melody continued to ponder as she made her way over to Save'ena "Hey Sweetie" She put an arm around her and a peck on the cheek. "Have you ordered yet?"

Sav's face screwed up slightly at the peck on the cheek. She shook her head and said, "Not yet, t'e crewman has been busy, ayuh." She suddenly moved in to kiss Melody on her right cheek. She drew back, a frown on her face, saying, "Not it..." She now kissed Melody on her left cheek, and a frustrated look came over her as she said, "Still not it...." Now she gave Melody a brushing kiss across her lips. Her face eased with a smile as she said, "Bettah... now weun can sit."

THat last kiss made Melody week at the knees. After what Sav had said last night about wanting time and now this..... "Much better" she replied dreamlike. As she sat down she looked lovingly at Sav. "Sweetie, what do you want? Do you still...... care for me like you did?"

Sav smiled to Melody as she took a hand into hers. She said, "Ah truly care fer yah, Ah do. But, a lot of our growing ina intimahcy ana trust happened durin' t'e trip to t'e Perez Nebula ana Lazarus Star... which yah seem tah remembeh some of, lahke our switchin bodies, yet, yer now records show yah neveh made t'e trip, goin' ona yer sabbatical tah become yer new engineer extraordinaire cahreer path.. so... Ah want yah, asa mah fellow wife wit' a male... but.. Ah don't know where yah are.. ana Ah ama not part of Draxx, heun does not know me... so, mah sweetness, where does t'at leave us?"

Melody squeezed her hand and took a deep breath. "Let me talk to Draxx. Who knows? You might like him, he might like you. What I do know is I still want you in my life. Is that selfish of me? I don't know. My career is doing just fine but I know I do better when you're near. While I was away, I thought about you constantly. I know things have changed, I don't regret anything. Not you, not Sansa, not Draxx. Even Sansa can tell I've got feeling for you. Well, Do you still want me?"

Sav churred out a snorted laugh. She replied, "Ova course Ah still wahnt yah, not'in hasa changed ona t'at score. But, ona Draxx, didn't yah say yah wanted him ina Sansa's life? Not necessarily ina yer's? Ana, Ah met someone on boahrd, he is nice, ana loves me looks, ana weun have dated some. But, Ah need tah know where weun, rather, youn stand witha Draxx."

Melody laughed out loud. “You know Caroline asked me the same question! Yes..... yes I would. Come to think of it, I think you’d like him. He’s a rouge sometimes but he’s also confident and street smart. You know Sansa is a lot like him.”

Sav churred and added, "Ona Sansa, sheun mah Kitlin', just as much asa yers, even more so, ifin yah know Mephetian culture." She snickered a little.

Mentioning Sansa brought Melody's thoughts back to earlier "Did you see Sansa in hear earlier? Was she wearing high heels?"

Sav looked a little funny at Melody, then replied, "No, Sweets, she was not. She grew slightly asa she was gettin' reahdy tah leave. Yah didna notice?"

Meldoy stopped laughing and her face grew pale. “What! Oh no no no!” She stood and grabbed Sav’s hand.

“Come on!” Meldoy was already moving towards the door, practically pulling Sav along with her.

Melody's reaction to the news threw Sav for a loop. That it was just a short growth spurt, and being at age 13 despite less than 2, would have been great news to Sav, showing a slowing. However, something else must be going on. She only stumbled slightly when pulled suddenly out of her chair, but quickly caught herself and trundled behind. She asked, "So, not supposed tah happen? Ah thought just a small growth spurt after reachin' thirteen in less thana two would be ah good thing."

“No. Not good. She’s lost enough of her childhood as it is.” Melody replies as she pulled Sav along with a worried look on her face. “The Doctors at Starfleet Medical said she should age normally now. The only thing that might cause her to......”. She slowed to a stop as her hand went to her mouth “Oh! Oh no! Come on. I want to check she’s ok.” Melody took off again.

Sav could only follow along as Melody kept the information to herself. She would support Melody and Sansa best as she was able.
