Transporter rooms seemed to blur into one of late. The transport over had been short and he had slept most of it. And now he was in a transporter room once more with just a kit bag while they confirmed his transfer over to the Merlin.

What he wasn't expecting was someone to greet him.

Melody has told Sansa that her father was coming to visit. This delighted Sansa no end. As Melody had been called on an away team, Sansa wanted to meet her dad in the transporter room. She did not know that Draxx was transferring to the Merlin permanently. She stood there patiently waiting as Draxx to materialize. When he had, She stepped forward smiling. “Hey there.”

"Sansa?" Draxx asked studying the young woman. He felt nervous. How could he had a daughter who was fully grown and he had not even had a cuddle from.

Cautiously, Sansa approached him, studying his face. Then suddenly flung her arms around him and hugged him. “Hi Dad. It’s soo good to finally meet you.” To her surprise she was blinking back tears. She hadn’t expected to react so strongly to his arrival. “I think we’ve got some catching up to do.”

Draxx hadn't expected the emotions suddenly flowing through him to be so powerful. His arms reached round her and hugged her tight. "I thought I might take you on a fishing trip," he finally managed to get out. "I bought you a rod." He released her and laughed at the look of confusion or terror on her face as he pulled out a old bear from his kit bag holding a fishing rod and handed it too her.

Sansa smiled as she looked at the bear. "Awwww, that's really cute. Thanks Dad. Mom had mentioned something about a spiny fish. So how long can you stay? I want to spend as much time as I can with you.

"Ahh I see Moms not told you every thing. She must have wanted to surprise you," he said with a smile. "I am now permanently reassigned to the Merlin. I resigned as chief of ops on," he couldn't tell her the name of his last ship. It was a covert mission, "my last ship because I couldn't bare to miss any more of you growing up and not being there for you. Except I look to still be late. I'm so sorry I missed everything that's happened. I hope you give me a chance to be a proper dad to you now Sansa."

Sansa's eyes brimmed with more tears which spilled down her cheeks. She hugged Draxx harder. "Oh Dad! That's wonderful! You'll see! This will be great. You, me and mom! I'll even go on that fishing trip with you. I'm sure you'll catch that spiny fish this time."

After what seemed like an eternity she finally took a step back, wiping the tears from her face. She smiled sheepishly "Sorry, I don't normally get so..... emotional."

Draxx smiled down adoringly at his daughter enjoying the hug. It was a long overdue hug.

He gently wiped her tears away. "Thats okay, so I just have to report in to Lieutenant Rejal," he checked his PADD, "drop this off at my quarters and then how's about we organise to go shopping? Looks like I have 18 years of birthdays to catch up on spoiling you for."

“That sounds great. I could do with some new clothes.”
