It seemed that Hayley's body-clock was so in-tune with her ship schedule that she was denied a lie-in even though she wanted nothing more than to sleep in. Instead, she awoke at 0650 and was fully alert and aware of her surroundings and despite her willing her body to let her go back to sleep - she had to concede defeat and reluctantly slid out from under the blanket, leaving a sleeping Sansa behind. She looked back at her lover, sleeping without a care in the world, nothing to protect her modesty but a thin blanket.
Smiling, she reached over and placed a gentle kiss on Sansa's forehead before she crossed the bedroom and over to the en-suite where she ran a shower. The hot water creating a cloud of steam as she closed the door so as not to disturb Sansa. The act of showering the morning after the night before wasn't to wash away a feeling of dirtiness, but merely to refresh herself. To be honest, she was amazed she wasn't more tired considering the antics of the previous evening. Both she and Sansa had been very keen to catch-up and even postponed make-up sex was still amazing!
Sansa seemed to send the lack of Hayley's warm body next to her and stirred slightly, coming to that state somewhere between awake and dreaming. She could feel the kiss lingering on her forehead and heard the shower running. Smiling to herself, she moved her face to Hayley's pillow and started to drift off to sleep again.
A shadow lurked as it opened the door stealthily, using techniques that would put a master spy to shame. Making sure that Hayley couldn't hear through the shower-room, the figure crept towards Sansa laying on the bed. Before she had even a chance to react, a hand was placed firmly over her mouth and a hypospray quickly injected into her neck. The young red-head slumped back. A device was affixed to her and a slight beep later, both the figure and Sansa dematerialized from the room.
Sansa awoke groggily, her head was pounding. What the hell? She thought to herself. Then she remembered feeling a hand on her face and pressure on her neck before everything went black. Her surroundings were slowly coming into focus. It was cold here and she suddenly realized why as she was wearing only a thin gown that left very little to the imagination. She tried to move but quickly found her hands and feet restrained. Her neck was also fastened into some sort of collar, but she could turn her head.
Out of the corner of her eye, something moved...
"Urgh... Hello?" She croaked out, her mouth dry, her lips parched.
"Oh good, you're awake." Came the voice and Luke moved into view.
She immediately recognised the voice. “Luke. What the hell is going on? Where am I?”
"Well, you piqued my curiosity, so I had a chat with my benefactor, who was extremely interested in what's inside your mind, little Sansa. Naturally, with Hayley getting in the way, I was never going to get the answers out of you that I wanted." Luke said, moving to behind a computer access terminal. "All that knowledge about the Megapteraians and their technology... plus I'm dying to know about this 'rapid' thing you mentioned as well. My bio-scans are really confused as well, you seem to have the body of a nineteen year old terran girl, but your carbon dating only puts you at four years old... fascinating!!"
Fear was rising in her but she was doing her best not to show it. She quickly came to the decision that she did not trust Luke and telling him about herself was definitely not a good idea. Who was this benefactor he spoke of?
She decided to try and stall him, hoping Hayley would find her somehow.
“You’re equipment must be faulty. Who would be interested in me anyway? You know when Hayley finds you she won’t be best pleased and you better pray my mother or father don’t get their hands on you.”
"I assure you, my equipment is state of the art." Luke said, coldly. "This is amazing! I'm seeing evidence of advanced cellular growth... rapid ageing! I recognise the tale-tale markers from my research into genetic cloning of Jem'Hadar... Oh my dear... you are very interesting indeed!" He smirked. "But what my benefactor is most interested in, is the Megapteraian data you have locked up... in... here" He said, tapping her head for emphasis, with a demented grin on his face, a side he rarely ever showed anyone.
"I wouldn't worry about your fuck-buddy finding us. She has no idea about this facility and I left no way to trace us..." He smirked.
- Meanwhile -
Hayley stepped out of her shower and felt the positive glow of having stood under hot water for an age. She wrapped herself in a towel and stepped out of the bathroom. Today, she was going to take Sansa on a walk to one of her favourite spots on the island, where the views over the bay were fantastic and they could have a nice solitary picnic together. She walked into the bedroom towelling her hair and noticed that Sansa wasn't in the bed anymore, but that both the bedsheet and her clothing were still there.
Something didn't feel right.
She walked over to the other side of the bed and spotted something nestled on the floor under some of the bedding that had fallen to the floor. A Hypospray. Now, what was that doing there? Instinct and training kicked in and she moved over to her dresser and removed her tricorder from the drawer. She scanned it carefully noting the trace elements of Axonol sedative, Sansa's DNA profile and... Luke's...
"Oh, you slimy bastard..." Hayley cursed angrily. Throwing off her towel, Hayley quickly threw on some clothes and grabbed her comm-badge off the dresser. She flew out her bedroom and down the stairs, banging her way out the front door and down the front path whilst speaking into her comm-badge.
- Back at the Lab -
Sansa’s dislike of Luke was growing. “Just because I let Fay share my body does not mean that I possess the collective knowledge of her race. Besides,” she pushed aside the feelings of revulsion and tried to put on some feminine charm “I’m sure you and I can spend our time together doing.... other things.”
Like if I could just get my leg free I would kick you so hard in the crotch, she thought to herself. Then she sent I silent prayer. Hayley..... Please find me...
"Are you hitting on me?" Luke chuckled. "You're so desperate to get out of this that a bonafide lesbian who is in a relationship with my sister would offer that?!" He laughed. "You're more pathetic than I thought." He added, coldly. "What makes you think I didn't get my kicks when you were asleep and naked?"
That last statement sent a shiver down Sansa’s spine. She dropped all pretence and looked at him coldly.
“Fine. If you must know I would rather help a Ferengi find Jamaharon than let you touch me. You dismiss your sister far too quickly and she knows how to treat a lady, unlike yourself and I was just hoping to get close enough to break every bone in your miserable body and you better hope I don’t get that chance.” She told him, her eyes cold and deadly.
He turned back to his workbench and sighed. "I had really hoped you'd be far more co-operative than this, Sansa. You seemed such a nice girl, but I guess Hayley's corrupted you against me." He said, then produced something from the desk, a small round flat device. "I had honestly hoped to avoid using such brute-strength measures, but time is a precious commodity, and my benefactor won't wait around forever for me to convince you to impart what you probably don't even know you know."
Deep down, Sansa knew what the device in his hand was but she didn’t want to admit it, even to herself. A small flicker of fear passed over her face. “What.... what is that?”
"It's a Romulan Mind Probe." He said, snidely. "Quite illegal since it's a device of considerable terror from the Tal'Shiar that they use to forcibly extract information from subjects rather than waste precious time on interrogation. It's considerably unpleasant to undergo, I'm told, but I fear I have no real choice. This will enable me to root through your mind at my discretion to find what I'm looking for."
“I’m telling you, you won’t find anything except visions of you falling down the deepest darkest hole possible,” Sansa said, trying to remain defiant.
"We'll see about that." Luke said, walking over towards her, ready to put the device on her temple when there was a massive explosion from the back wall and a phaser beam shot out of the darkness and struck the hand holding the mind-probe, causing Luke to release it to clatter on the floor and he to crash into the counter behind him, holding his hand. He looked up as Hayley appeared out of the hole now created in the room, holding a phaser in her hand, pointing directly at her brother.
"Make one more move, I dare you." She hissed angrily at him. "Please... it'd sooo make my Christmas if I could vaporise you."
"Hayley!" He growled. "How did you find me?!"
"The power of love." She replied, coyly. "On the anniversary of our first ever date, I gave Sansa a bracelet that she never ever takes off. The gem-stones look innocuous enough and aren't really expensive either, but they have a very unique resonance frequency that can be detected anywhere from orbit as long as a ships sensors are tuned to look for it."
"Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me?!" Luke snarled.
Sansa’s resolve started to crumble and tears of joy ran down her face. “You found me! I knew you’d find me. Would you get me out of this please?”
"I promised your parents I'd look after you - always. I never break my promises." Hayley said, moving towards the chair and releasing the clamps via the control panel. She then moved over to where Luke was laying on the ground, holding his stunned hand. "I also promised myself that if I caught you, I'd break your jaw."
"You'd never dar-" He started, but Hayley kicked him squarely in the face, thereby breaking his jaw.
"NEVER. EVER. TOUCH. MY. SANSA!" Hayley spat out, fury on her face.
Sansa looked at Hayley like her knight in shining armour.
With a grin of smug satisfaction, Hayley crossed her arms over her chest looking down imperiously on her older brother who'd lorded it over her all her life, brought low by the girls. "Luke Alexander Godding, you are hereby under arrest for kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault and possession of illegal technology. You have the right to consult an attorney. If you cannot afford one, the Federation will provide one. You have the right to remain silent, but anything you say or do will be noted down and taken down as evidence against you. Do you understand these rights as I've explained them to you?"
Luke spat out a mouthful of blood onto the floor and used the back of his hand to wipe his mouth. "Yes." He snarled. "But don't expect it to stick."
"You just wait until Sansa's mother finds out what you did. Trust me, you'll want to be in jail." Hayley smirked, then took Sansa's hand, leading her towards the hole in the wall that Federation Police personnel were now coming through to secure Luke.
Hayley turned to look at Sansa. "I think it's time I took you home. Your folks are gonna be pissed at me for letting this happen on my watch..."
The moment Sansa was free, she immediately threw herself at Hayley, wrapping her arms around her. “My mom and dad are going to be so grateful that you were here to protect me. I know I am.” She looked at her and kissed her passionately. “Do you mind if we get out of here?” She asked when she came up for air.
Hayley smiled at her and tapped her comm badge. "Godding to Orca, two to transport." A moment later, the two of them beamed up and into the runabout in geosynchronous orbit over the facility. Hayley helped Sansa step off the small transport pad in the middle of the craft. "I was owed a favour, and using the runabout's sensors was the easiest way to find you, so I've borrowed a runabout for a few days. Since I suspect we're not going to be very popular back at the family home, shall we head off somewhere else?" It was liable to be a slight understatement when her parents found out that Hayley had arrested her older brother who was now facing serious charges. It'd all be Hayley's fault, of course it would, Luke could do no wrong...
"Well, my mom and Dad are expecting us in Rome so we can go there in a few hours. Right now, I want you to put us somewhere safe, engage the autopilot and join me in the living area after I've had a sonic shower, so I can thank you for rescuing me properly." Sansa said before planting another devastating kiss on Hayley.
After reluctantly breaking away from the kiss to let Sansa go refresh, Hayley walked into the cockpit area. "Computer, set a course to orbit above the north pole and keep us clear of any traffic. After four hours, set course for the Rome Transit Station for auto-landing." She instructed.
[Destination Confirmed]
"Engage. Thrusters only." Hayley said, tapping on the console.
The computer chirped in confirmation.
"Computer, engage privacy mode. Only disturb if priority one communication is received." She said as she got back up to move aft. "Notify when we're at Rome."
[Privacy Mode Engaged]
Hayley grinned as she made her way back aft.
