ON:

After some negotiations with Starfleet security, Fay and Abigale had let them take up temporary accommodation in Aberfoyle near Mathias's home. They had arranged to meet Mathias for an evening meal.

Mathias had taken time to make himself presentable for the evening, dinner with Fay and Abigale. He was still feeling conflicted with the way things were/ are now. Yes, he kissed Fay and Abigale after the combining. The kiss, how should he describe it? It was powerful! The first kiss of them both combined. Mathias had felt like his knees would have buckled, but he had managed to keep himself upright. He wondered if those two understood the 'power' they had at their fingertips. Mathias also was apprehensive, what was this night going to bring?

Mathias took another look at himself, royal blue suit, with malachite cufflinks. a white button up shirt, around his neck was a thin tie burgundy in color. On the middle finger of his left hand was an antique silver ring with a single bluish green stone with flecks of red in it a blood stone. The silver part of the ring was dark in color, with stars engraved in the band. In his pocket, was a polished reddish stone called a carnellian. He also wore a tan overcoat tweed coat, that was weatherized, that would withstand rainy weather. On his feet Mathias wore a pair of cream colored converse shoes, instead of highly polished black shoes. One more smoothing of his hair Mathias headed off to where Abigale and Fay were staying. Once there he pressed the chime to let them know he had arrived.

Fay was in the shower while talking to Abigale in her mind. "Thank you for sharing your memories with me as I have shared mine with you. Sansa did the same when I shared her body. Now, about Mathias..."

Ahhh.. Mathias... I know you have feelings for him, and that you're conflicted.

An Accurate assessment. Physical intimacy is.... very different for our species. When I kissed him. I'm sorry, I don't mean to take him from you."

"You like him, I like him... I suppose we're going to have to talk to him about this as he did seem reluctant when...."

Her train of thought was interrupted by the door chime. She quickly got out of the shower, threw a towel around her, and went to the door. "Come in!" Fay called out.

Mathias hearing the call to come in, reached out and opened the door. Instead of seeing Fay and Abigale all ready dressed and ready to go, he saw that they had apparently just stepped out of the shower. He caught the scent of the soap they used and their red hair still dark from the water. He gulped and quickly did a perfect about face turning his back to them.

"I-I am sorry, I must be a bit too early. I'll wait out here until you have gotten dressed." Mathias exclaimed. Mentally biting the knuckle of his right index finger. They looked rather...enticing. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly, he can get through this, he had to get through this, to stay the gentleman he was. Remember Tann, and Fay is spoken for. And remember.... the enchanting woman he had spoken to, in the arboretum, Caroline.

"It's ok, you can wait in the living area. There is a very comfortable sofa." Fay replied. "I won't be long, Abigale has picked out a very nice dress to wear."

Mathias waited until he thought enough time had passed for them to make their way to where they could get dressed in relative privacy, before he slowly turned around, ready to turn back around at a moment's notice. Mathias made his way to the sofa, and gingerly sat down feeling a bit anxious and nervous. Much like the first date he'd gone on when age 16. He felt awkward much like he was feeling now.

Fay called out from her bedroom to Mathias "So where are you taking us this evening?"

"We'll be going to the Faerie Tree Inn. It has a great variety of food there which is also very delicious." Mathias answered. "It's been awhile since I've been there. A long while." his voice rather thoughtful.

Fay stepped back into the living room wearing a black evening gown that was low cut and slit provocatively up one side. She wore her hair down and her makeup was simple, yet elegant. Obviously, Abigale had helped Fay a great deal with that. She did a little twirl for Mathias and when she spoke, the temperature in the room rose by at least ten degrees. "How do I look?"

Seeing the full vision of Fay and Abigale as they stepped into view, Mathias was speechless, for a few long moments he just looked. Realizing that he was staring, Mathias rose from the sofa and walked over to where Fay and Abigail stood. Picking up their hand, he brought it up to his lips and kissed it gently. Lowering their hand he murmured,

"You both are absolutely stunning." leaning in to kiss their cheek. Catching the scent of their perfume, his nostrils flared slightly. The faint scent was something he loved, Chanel Number Five. Very provocative, and so was the dress.

Fay had to resist the urge to slips her arms around him. "Not yet..." Abigale whispered to her in her mind.

Instead, she slipped her hand into his "So where are you taking us this evening?"

Mathias felt relieved that she just held his hand, "Come, I'll show you where we are going." drawing her out of the room and to the waiting transport. The vehicle, a classic 1940's taxi was there waiting for the two, and once he helped Fay and Abigale into the taxi, he got in on the other side and enjoyed the ride to the Faerie Tree Inn.

"Matthew, you've done well with restoring your pride and joy." Mathias speaking to the driver.

Matthew tipped his hat towards his passengers. "Its my honor, Mathias as well as our honored guest, Fay and Abigale. Now off we go to the Faerie Tree Inn, they are waiting for ye, and all excited." giving a bit of a laugh. "you've got them all in a twitter right now."

Mathias laughed, "I suppose that this is rather exciting for everyone, in town. Oh and just be prepared, there will be some more excitement happening when some other friends of mine and also those, whom I work with on the USS Merlin, coming here as well. We're going to be putting on a performance. Sav and Miles, both of them are rather special people. There is more to them that meets the eye, sort of magical you could say." giving a bit of a wink.

"Aye lad, you are causing quite the stir. Now aren't you going to introduce me to your lovely friend, Fay? Even though I know Abigale the hostess, I'd like to officially be introduced."

"Fay, meet Matthew Balfour, Matthew meet Fay." Mathias replied, with a smile.

Matthew reached back to shake her hand, and touched his hat. "My pleasure." he then turned back around and put the taxi into gear and headed towards their destination.

When they arrived at the place, Mathias and Fay/Abigale were greeted by the staff waiting for them. Matthew opened the door for Mathias and Fay/Abigale to get out. Mathias had almost sprinted around to offer his hand to Fay/Abigale to help them out. Then he offered his arm to Fay/Abigale to escort them past the gathered staff. The staff clapping their hands together in light applause.

Mathias chuckled softly, "You are a celebrity, especially with Abigale and you together."

The couple was taken to a more private area to where they could look out towards the forest and the trees that had doors in them for faeries to abide in them. The courtyard lit up with small fairy lanterns.

There was a small dance floor set up and music gently wafted through the air. While the vista was stunning, Fay and Abigale only had eyes for Mathias. "You set all this up? You do spoil us." she said. Abigale snuck though a bit and took hold of his hand. "Dance? Why I'd love to."

Mathias only shook his head to the negative about him setting this up. "I didn't do this, it was the management, their idea. However, I am not objecting to the dancing." giving a bit of a gentle smile, as Abigail drew him to the small dance floor. He pulled her into a waltz position as a soft piece of music begins to play, Sailing by Christopher Cross. It was a favorite of his, it was an upbeat and yet tranquil melody. He loved to dance to it. As it played he led, Abigale/Fay into some smooth dance steps; partial waltz steps and also two step. Fay/Abigale would find herself tripping the light fantastic on the dance floor, as they moved about. When the music ended, Mathias looked into Fay/Abigale's eyes, and smiled, saying softly, "You are light on your feet, my ladies."

Fay replied “You're not too bad yourself. I let Abigale guide our feet that time. She seemed able to anticipate your lead. That was the first time I have danced.” Fay admitted.

"I am glad that I didn't step on your feet then." Mathias teased, "It wouldn't have been too pleasant if I had." then he added, "Honestly though I am glad that my mother had insisted that I take dancing lessons. I ended up being my sisters partner in their lessons as well." becoming lost in thought for a moment or two.

“Shall we eat now and dance some more later?”

Mathias blinked, coming back to the present, he had been lost in memories back in the day when things seemed simpler.

"Oh yes, time for dinner." Mathias seeing the waiter step into view.

Mathias walked with Fay/Abigale to their table, pulling out the chair for them, then sliding it inward.

Fay sat down at the seat offered by Mathias opposite him. “Would you recommend anything?” she asked as she took a sip of her water.

"I am thinking of a nice tender steak with mushrooms and sauteed onions, plus a green salad and some lemon and honey vinaigrette salad dressing. And fresh rolls with butter. As for you.. I do know that Abigale loves lamb, chicken or even a steak. Sometimes she loves duck, or salmon. Which of those sound good to you, Fay and Abigale?" Mathias questioned them.

Fay listened internally to Abigale's suggestions for a moment then said out loud to Mathias "That does sound interesting. I would like to try that as well with a glass of..." She frowned for a moment trying to get the pronunciation right "Pino noir?"

Mathias nodded, "I'll have a Sparkling Bella Rose' to go with that please, plus water with a slice of lemon." he said to the waiter.

The waiter took the orders then left to inform the Chef.

"That is a good choice of a wine." Mathias remarked to Fay and Abigale. "I'm looking forward to this meal. Fay, hopefully you have been enjoying some of your experiences here. There has been quite a bit for you to see here, and one can only scratch the surface to even see half of what there is."

"Yes. I've really enjoyed my time here. You know, It's unusual but I've witnessed this place from two different perspectives now." Fay remarked "Sansa did not know this area and was completely enchanted with its beauty. Abigale knows the area well yet, it still means a lot to her and she still finds the scenery stunning but it holds more specific and somewhat intense memories for her."

Mathias nodded, "I am wondering if that is what a trill might think as well, when they have their changes of host bodies." he mused. "It probably takes a little bit of time to adjust to different perceptions." he mused. "Quite a bit of stimuli to account for, perhaps." he laughed slightly. "There I go getting scientific once again."

The waiter came over with their food and wine.

Mathias looked at the waiter and said, "Thank you." before beginning to eat his food. He also was watching to see what Fay was thinking about the food here as well. He also realized that this was the first date in a new host for Fay. He had no idea what her perceptions were going to be like. It was almost another first date for Fay and could this be called a first date for him and Abigale? His mind tried to wrap itself around the whole idea. It was starting to be like a first date he had imagined when just a rather young man age 13, one between him and Abigale.

Fay was really enjoying the meal. Something about the combination of flavours was just so perfect. Every mouthful was simply beautiful and as she kept eating each flavour and smell was becoming more vivid and intoxicating.

Abigale who was more spectating at the moment noticed this but also something else was happening. She could feel her core body temperature start to rise and her heart race was starting to accelerate. She glanced over at Mathias and it was if she could feel herself being drawn to him more and more. It was like he was a magnet, pulling her in. Something was wrong.
"Fay? Urm.... are we ok?" Abigale thought in her mind

"Mmmmm... Yes. We are so wonderful right now....." Came the reply.

The intoxicating effect was starting to work it's magic on Abigale as well as Fay now. Endorphins were flooding her senses, creating a sense of euphoria. "No.... YEs.... YES! He will be ours soon.... soonnn.

Mathias had been eating his own food, enjoying it very much and also looking up occasionally to see how Fay was enjoying the meal, he asked, "Did you say something?" his mostly eaten steak being left unfinished, as he watched Fay/Abigale. There was something going on and he wasn't certain as of yet, what that was. "Fay, Abigale, are you okay?" reaching out a hand towards them.

She paused and almost moaned "This meal is sooo wonderful.." before she continued eating, relishing and savouring each mouthful. Her pupils had dilated and a slick sheen of perspiration was starting to form on her face. She paused to drink in the sight of Mathias, which was becoming as arousing as the meal was. Deep within her loins, a fire was starting to burn hotter and hotter. She squirmed in her seat but this only stoked the flames higher. She exhaled slowly which became more like a gasp of pleasure and she traced one finger down her face, her chest, and across the table finding his hand, fixing her eyes on his with a gaze of pure, unadulterated lust. Her head was swimming, she couldn't think straight. Fay's and Abigale's desires were somehow combining into one deep and powerful need for him, wanting him. NOW!

With that touch of their hand upon his own and the expression in their eyes, Mathias realized that there was certainly something very wrong. He caught the glimmering in their eyes, which seemed more intense than when Fay was in Sansa. He mentally smacked himself in the head as he realized, that he nor anyone else thought of, the possibility of overstimulation. Fay had been in the body of a 19 year old girl who was passionately in love with Hayley, and now there was Abigale who had feelings for him, feelings that he found out that she's had for quite sometime, and apparently had developed even more, with combination of Fay's feelings. He groaned inside, tonight was going to be one for heartbreak.

Taking a deep breath then letting it out slowly, Mathias stated quietly, holding her hand, "Abigale, Fay, we've got a bit of a problem and I have to apologize for what's happening. Too much sensory stimulation is taking place."

Fay forced herself to slow her breathing and let Abigale take control. Abigale took some long slow breaths, trying to get her bearings. "My..... my head.... Everything is sooo intense. Could we go somewhere... somewhere quiet.... just us.... please? Her voice was down to a low whisper now. She was trembling, exhausted.

Mathias nodded, rising up and moving towards Abigale/Fay. He wrapped an arm about them and left their dinner, only stopping at the host desk to let them know that they were leaving.

"Is everything all right?" Mathias was asked.

"Everything was very delicious, she's been rather busy and didn't realize how tired she was." he remarked. "Tell the chef he'd outdone himself." flashing a grin at the host. "I'll be back later on. To pay my personal compliments."

The host nodded and Mathias gave a piercing whistle for Matthew, who drove up. "I've got to get the ladies back to their room, if you don't mind Matthew."

Matthew nodded and quickly took them back to where Abigale and Fay were staying. Once they were safely out of the taxi, he drove away, as Mathias walked Abigale/Fay to their room.

Outside her accommodation, was a garden with a spectacular view of the loch. The night air was still, broken only by the gentle sound of the water lapping and the occasional bird flittering back and forth. The garden was accessed by a set of french doors with a bench situated close by. Having picked up a rather large and comfortable blanket from the house Abigale sat wrapped in that snuggling up next to Mathias, trying to sort out in her head what had happened, along with Fay who was doing the same.

She looked at Mathias. "Thank you." She said quietly. "For everything. We're still trying to figure out what happened." She reached up and toyed with a lock of his hair.

Mathias who had his arm around them, looked down and kissed the top of Abigale's head. "I am thinking that with the sensory overload that Fay is experiencing, and the connection that you two share, you are feeling it too. You do remember that Fay was in the body of a 19 year old, who's hormones are really coming into play. And there is also, your feelings, your passions that she is feeling as well, along with her own developing emotional levels too. Its almost like something akin to someone seeing sunlight for the first time, or seeing brilliant colors when they could only see black and white. Or a young woman experiencing love for the first time or even a boy for that matter, and not knowing how to cope with the passions that start to arise. They normally tend to talk to someone to find the tools how to cope with said sensations, or even have someone guide them through it."

Mathias gently reached up to take the hand that Abigale was using to play with the lock of his hair, into his own. "I do know that Fay wishes to experience everything a human feels before going back home, including being intimate with someone. I'm not blind to the fact that the both of you would love for it to be with me." he softly said, "And a part of me wishes to do so, but, I just can't do that. It just doesn't feel right to me."

Abigale nodded slowly, realising that her feelings for him still ran deep but also she knew that he was right. A tear trickled down her cheek which glistened in the moonlight.

Mathias reached out and wiped away the tear, feeling saddened but still knowing that what he was doing was right, and feeling his own heart crumbling even more. "I am sorry... so sorry." he whispered.

Having recovered her strength, Abigale allowed Fay to the surface, the sparkle returning to her eyes. The way she looked at him didn't alter.

"You're a good man Mathias McPhee. You have my... my respect... And you will always have a special place in my thoughts. You know, Abigale still has strong feelings for you." For both of them, she leaned in and kissed Mathias gently on his lips. After a long pause, she pulled back. "It's getting late. Thank you for... for a wonderful evening."

Mathias was shaken to his very core from the kiss, which was a kiss goodbye for him. He could only nod for the moment then rose from the bench. "Be safe on your journeys dear ladies. You will always have a special place in my heart as well." he couldn't think of any other words to say that wouldn't sound as trite as he just said. One more look into both of their eyes, his own eyes shimmering with an emerald like gleam catching the light of the sun. "Be safe and may the stars watch over you." a tingly sensation permeating the air, a final kiss to her hand and he walked away, a faint mist rising, giving Mathias a surreal quality about him.

As he left, Fay heard Abligale whisper in her mind... "I'll be back, Mo gahol.... I'll be back." (Mo gahol is Scottish Gaelic for 'my love')
