I'm taking thirty seconds to write this log ...

Following a private discussion with Commander Barstow before my Family arrived, my transfer to Chief Operations Officer has been approved. I'll begin my duties once I have settled my Family in our new home from home ...

Lana, Mackenzie, and Mia had beamed over from the Galapagos an hour ago. It was so good to see them, and to know they would be with me for the duration of my time on the Merlin. I had worried about the duration of our current mission, and knew we could be away for months. it was the original reason for my wanting to leave Star Fleet, but Lana is happy to be here and she is very much looking forward to setting up the new school, a first for the Merlin, given the children's education had been through tutoring rather than a classroom environment. Kenzi and Mia are so excited, but all this is very new to them, and me too, truth be told.

I managed to thank Captain Komin personally for her bringing them to the Merlin before the Galapagos returned to her assigned activities.
