Personal Log ::

We have finally concluded the first segment of our time at the Hayes Prooving Grounds ... Several Departments had been instructed to conduct drills, including an Intruder Alert Scenario, and a Medical Bio-hazard Scenario ...

I used my 'Incursion Scenario' data set up several suspected Intruder occurrences. I had been asked by the Commander to utilise and oversee Security during the drills, which i was happy to do as it would give me more scope to be 'imaginative' rather than conforming to the usual scenario's adopted by Star Fleet Command. In my opinion the drills went well, and at this stage Commander Barstow also seems to have been pleased at the performance of his Operation Officer as well as the numerous Security and Civilian Personnel I utilised during the various drill runs ...

I am very happy with the abilities and resourcefulness of my Deputy Chief, Lieutenant jg Lysia T'Seng. I have the feeling we will work together well .....

We have been given some free time now, and I intend to use that to grab some sleep, and time with my newly arrived Family. Lana will be opening the Merlin's very first school in a few days, so she will be very busy. She has found two tutors who were already aboard and were covering the education needs of Officers' Children on an almost rota basis. Now they will have organised classes and hopefully go on to great things. Of course, as Lana has already experience as the Head of a school in San Francisco, she will settle in very easily I feel.

While my actual 'role' as Chief of Operations differs from the one I held on the Galapagos, I'm sure I will be able to adapt.

Finally, while I am looking forward to what each day, hour, minute, of my time here brings, I'm looking forward to my head hitting my pillow for the first time since coming aboard more.

End Log .....
