The shuttle craft USS Gandalf moved through space as quietly as a thief in the night, gliding like an eagle across the backdrop of stars at steady speed of warp 5. Inside the 4 crew members sat talking and sharing stories, laughing and drinking when a beeping sound started to come from the console of the shuttle.



Ensign Redox stood up and walked over to the console and touched the panel. “There's a ship on sensors Lieutenant, Just coming into range”



Lieutenant Lidox took a sip from her Zariphean tea “That, I hope is our new home welcome to the Merlin. Hail them please Mr Redox” Lidox stood up and moved to the navigation panel.



“This is the USS Merlin. Please drop out of warp and prepare to dock.”



Lidox moved her hands over the panel and the shuttle dropped out of warp and continued towards the Merlin at impulse



“There's something wrong” Said Redox cautiously “The Merlin is upside down.”



“Are you sure it’s not the universe?” Sniggered Lidox.



Redox looked at Lidox and sighed. Lidox just sat there smiling sweetly as if to imply butter wouldn’t melt.

He continued “You’ve spent the last 8 hours doing a slow barrel roll to turn us on our heads without us noticing, just so you could make that joke! You’re going to make this an interesting posting.”



A voice from the Merlin came over the comm system again. “Alter your rotation and move into dock”



Lidox rolled the shuttle back into the correct orientation and proceeded into the shuttle bay of the Merlin. They had reached there new home.
