Lieutenant JG Melody Jones stood in the shuttlebay with a wry smile on her face as the Gandalf came to a rest in its assigned bay. She had made some new friends on the Merlin but it was going to be nice to have an old friend with her. The door to the shuttle oped slowly.

"Redneck" came a voice out of the craft. "So you got a flying moon to pilot I see!"

"That can only be Earthquake" smirked Melody "Late as usual I see!"

Lidox stepped out of the shuttle craft and laughed. She quickly moved across the shuttle bay and hugged Melody "At least I will have a friendly face as I find my way around this moon."
Melody embraced her old friend "its good to see you Li, and this is no moon. How's the old worm holding up by the way?"

Lidox smiled "Junior is fine ty"

The three ensigns who were stood off to one side shared a sideways glance. Redox spoke up "Why Redneck and Earthquake?"

Melody turned to him with mock seriousness "That's Sir!" she corrected.

"Sorry Sir" Redox stammered and brought himself to attention.

"Give them some slack Mell, they've spent 8 hours putting up with me" Lidox turned to Redox "Mell is Redneck because she was in Red Squad. She was the one sent to recruit me into Red Squad as well."

"And you turned it down" Joked Melody "And if they have ever shared quarters with you they would know why She is called Earthquake. Snores like a wounded Targ. Please tell me your quarters are not next to mine" She added with a smile.

"So they sent you to show me around this old tug" Lidox joked "I am glad. We can catch up as we go."

"Sounds great, I'm afraid the tour will have to wait as I've got to take you to the Captain first" Melody Turned to the Ensigns "Would you three please report in with your department head after you've stowed your gear in your quarters." Then turning back to Lidox "Would you follow me please?"

The two Lieutenants left the docking bay chatting. Lidox seemed quite keen to find out as much as possible about her new assignment and the Merlin.

"I think you're going to like here" Melody said as they entered the turbolift, then addressing the computer "TIC, Deck 5" Then turning back to Davina "Was it a smooth trip to get here?"

Lidox smiled "it was interesting meting a Bolian and a Halian. I'm sure I'll meet a lot of new species while I'm in Starfleet."

"I'm sure we will" Melody answered as they approached the TIC
