A Fond farewell

Melody stood in transporter room 1 with a tear in her eye. She was saying farewell to her little girl as she set out on her first mission on her own, well away from Melody. She held onto Draxx for emotional support. The Santa Maria was due to depart shortly and Sansa and Hamish were getting readying to disembark the Merlin.
"I'm going to miss you Sweetie." she said as she stepped forward and hugged Sansa.
Mathias was watching all that was going on. He was proud of his cousin and what this opportunity was offering. His Cousin gets to go on his own.
"Make sure you be nice Hamish." giving a teasing smile. "You look happy, Cousin." Mathias remarked.
"I am happy" Hamish responded with a boyish grin. He felt alive, more alive than what he had ever felt for a long while since, Esme. "I guess this is my destiny."
"I'm going to miss you too. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it." Sansa said, trying not to cry. She then went and hugged her dad, whispering in his ear "Look after mom, won't you?"
"Don't I always?" Draxx asked. "Hell, I'll even look after Nibbles. You know things will be fine."
Meanwhile, Melody had moved over to Hamish and in a quiet voice said. "Lieutenant, you are responsible for my daughter's safety, understood?"
"Understood, Captain. I will do my utmost to see that she comes back to you safely." Hamish replied, looking towards Sansa as she embraced her father, a gentle smile crossed his lips and a fond expression in his eyes.
"Make sure you keep an eye on her. No strange men, women .... limit the Aldebaran whiskey. Eat your fruit and veg little one and call us every couple of days so we know you're alive. Come give your father one more hug," Draxx stated.
"I'll be careful dad, and I'll keep in touch." Sansa said as she embraced him, trying not to cry. "Look I got you this." Sansa handed him a framed picture of him holding the spiny fish he had caught on their fishing trip together.
Draxx couldn't say anything further. Officially speechless he took the picture and put it to his heart patting it.
"Here Mom, I got you something too." She said as she handed Melody a small green plushy of a Frog.
"What's this?" Melody asked looking at the frog slightly confused.
"It's not a what it's a who.." Sansa replied "This is Kermit the Frog. He's from an ancient Earth television show. He's a lot like you, mom. He always keeps his cool in a crisis and inspires greatness in his people.
"Oh.." Melody replied. "Why thank you, Sweetie. I Shall put him on my desk in my Ready room."
Doctor Blessed Stepped forward "Thank you for your hospitality Captain but we really should be getting underway. We shall send you regular progress reports."
"Yes, of course, Doctor. I wish you God speed and good luck on your mission." Melody said as Sansa made her way onto the transporter pad with the others.
Hamish looked at Melody then gave a nod to her. "Don't worry as I said, I'll keep watch over her."
Then he looked towards Mathias, "You take good care of your lady, if not I will come back and smack you a good one." then Hamish flashed a quick smile.
Mathias just laughed, as he knew Hamish was teasing, Mathias didn't need any hollow threats as he was certainly going to be attentive to Caroline.
Melody took a deep breath before she uttered "Energise."
