Melody was putting the finishing touches on the evening meal while Sansa was setting the table and opening the wine.

After the fiasco last time which resulted in the ripping of her favourite little black dress, Melody had got herself a new little black dress which had room for her growing bump.

She paused and looked at Sansa as she finished opening the wine. “My little girl is really growing up and setting off on her own.” She sniffed as her eyes started tearing up. “Darn it. I promised myself I wouldn't cry.” she added as she dabbed her eyes.

Sansa came over and hugged her. “I’m going to miss you too.”

"Hello," Draxx said waving. "You know she's not the only parent going to miss you kiddo."

Melody waved him over “Come over here mister, there's room in this hug for you.”

"That's better," Draxx said moving over to join them in a proper family hug. "Oh, it's a proper family hug. I just felt your brothers making their presence felt."

Sansa patted Melody's bump. "Hey in there. Don't you worry. Your big sister will be back before it's time for you to come out.

Melody smiled "Come on you two, our guest will be here soon."

Doctor Blessed had just beamed over from the Santa Maria escorting Fay. They made their way from the transporter room to the Captain's quarters and pressed the chime.

"Come in." Melody called out. The door opened "Ahh Fay, Doctor Blessed come in. You're the first to arrive. Would you like a drink? There's some red wine open."

"Ahh yes please. That sounds wonderful, and please call me Brian."

"I also would like a glass of wine." Fay replied

Sansa poured two glasses and handed one to Brain and one to Fay.

Fay smiled at Sansa "Thank you. are you looking forward to getting underway this evening?"

"Oh Yes." Sansa replied, "But I will miss my parents."

"That's only natural." Fay replied.

Hamish arrived a bit ahead of Mathias and Caroline, he pressed the chime and awaited the call to enter before he did. "Greetings everyone." Hamish said when he stepped inside. "Something smells delicious." his eyes were lit up with excitement.

Melody was back at her pans in the open kitchen. "Thank you Hamish, please sit down. Dinner will be ready shortly. Would you like a drink?"

"Certainly and thank you." taking a seat, Hamish gave a smile towards Melody, then his attention was drawn towards Sansa, his cheeks turning a pinkish hue, remembering the kiss.

Sansa came over with his drink and handed it to him, her hand lingering on his as she did.

Hamish's cheeks darkened a bit more at that contact, he could feel himself starting to fall under Sansa's spell even more. Not knowing if she knew what was happening with him. He has to have a firm resolve but.. Okay he must not stare at Sansa. "Thank you, Sansa."

Fay watched the exchange with interest.

Mathias arrived with Caroline and pressed the chime to let Melody and the others know they had arrived. "This may prove to be a rather interesting evening, Love." Mathias said giving Caroline a tender kiss.

At the chime, Melody called out "Come in! Ahhh, Mathias Caroline, please make yourself at home, dinner is almost ready. There's a bottle of red wine going around somewhere."

Sansa had already poured Caroline and Mathias a glass and came over to them. "Hi you two, so glad you came."

“I can’t drink that,” Caroline said quietly to Sansa. “Could I have something non-alcoholic please?”

She exchanged a look with Mathias really not wanting to have to announce anything until they had got their heads around this pregnancy. “I’m still feeling the effects of that planet's atmosphere. I don’t think wine right now is a good plan,” she gave her a quick smile. It was a white lie. Hopefully, one Sansa wouldn’t press right now.

Sansa took the wine glass back. "Of course Caroline, what can I get you? A nice traditional lemonade?"

“Thank you. That sounds lovely,” the blond smiled.

"Dinner is ready." Melody called out. "If you'd you like to take your seats."

Melody had a seat at the head of the table with Draxx and Sansa on either side. Caroline, Mathias and Doctor Blessed were next to Draxx. Hamish and Fay were next to Sansa.

Mathias remarked, "I'll take her wine." holding out his hand for it. "And thank you." he glanced over towards Hamish who seemed to be, in a bit of a... different mood, a good one nonetheless. He then slipped his hand over Caroline's giving it a gentle squeeze, once they were seated.

Mathias did cast a glance over towards Fay/Abigale finding it somewhat odd seeing them once more. However, it looked like those two were doing well. He then turned his gaze to Caroline, and smiled lovingly.

"This is strange. Being with people again. Not in capture," she commented. "I know I wasn't there that long but it seemed so long. I wonder what's for dinner. It was wafer like food on the planet," she commented. She had lost weight.

"In honour of our guests I've prepared a special steak on a rosti with sauteed potatoes, creamed spinach, carrots, mushrooms and deep-fried courgettes," Melody said as she placed plates in front of everyone with Sansa helping. "How does everyone want their steak cooking?"

Fay listened to Abigale for a moment before replying. "Just over medium for me." After her experience last time in the restaurant with Mathias, she was going to go easier on the food and the wine this evening.

"Caroline how about you?" Melody asked, warming up her steak pan.

"I'd like mine a little well done please," the blond said. She suspected Melody was on to her. She had never eaten her steak like that in the past.

Hamish looked towards Caroline, "I am glad that you are back on the ship, I will say that Mathias has not been himself without you." giving a teasing look towards his older cousin.

Mathias gave Hamish a sharp glance, Hamish gave a triumphant grin towards Mathias.

Hamish stated, "I will take my medium rare." giving a smile.

Mathias decided he wanted his steak more cooked than normal, himself. "Medium for mine if you don't mind."

He turned to the others, "I think it is marvellous about this trip, and I will say, quite frankly I am rather jealous." giving a laugh. "however there are other things to keep me busy, and another mission to go on."

Melody nodded watching the interactions between Mathias and Caroline. She was starting to suspect something was going on with Caroline but she decided to keep quiet for the time being.

"Here we are" She announced a short time later, placing a plate in front of each of them with a juicy, mouth-watering steak on, each cooked to perfection.

Hamish lost no time in cutting a bite, and smiled as he chewed the meat so tender that it seemed to melt in his mouth. The flavours were so sublime, his eyes closing as he just gave in to the pleasure it gave to his taste buds. He opened his eyes and looked at Melody, "This is fabulous!" he exclaimed.

Mathias was just staring at Hamish, it was certainly obvious the man was in ecstasy eating just that one morsel of meat. Then a broad smile crossed his lips, as he looked towards Melody. "If you are ever worried about how well you cook, Hamish could be considered the thermometer of delicious food. You can tell just how he is smiling." giving a chuckle.

Hamish opened his eyes and noticed Mathias was just staring at him and grinning. "What? This is 5 star cooking!" cutting off another bite and placed it in his mouth.

Melody paused and looked around each of their faces smiling, finally coming to rest on Sansa. "I'm glad you're all enjoying it. I would have hated for the last meal with my daughter to be a bad one." Her eye's started to tear up. "Oh, damn. Here I am getting all emotional again." She said, picking up a napkin to dab her eyes.

"My mother did the same thing when I was getting ready to go to Academy." Hamish stated. "It's okay to have tears shed." giving a comforting smile, to Melody. "It just means you love Sansa." he added.

Draxx placed an arm around his wife. "The meals perfect sweetheart and she's going to be fine. She will be in her element. Sansa, we are proud of you."

Melody appreciated Draxx's support and squeezed his hand. "Your father's right, we're very proud of you Sweetie." She took hold of Sansa's hand with her free hand.

Mathias watched for a moment, smiling then leaned over and gave Caroline a kiss on the cheek. "Looks like there are going to be quite a few changes." whispering in her ear.

Hamish looked on at the display of affection, all the while eating his steak as it was rather good. In between though he'd be smiling, and staring at Sansa then glancing towards her parents, then back to concentrating on his food.

Sansa caught Hamish's gaze and smiled back. "I'm going to miss you two," She said to Melody and Draxx. "But don't worry. I'll be back before you know it."

When everybody had cleared their plates Sansa started clearing the table and Melody produced something very chocolatey for dessert.

Fay enjoyed the sensation of chocolate and saved each mouthful. "The meal was wonderful Melody, thank you so much for inviting us."

Melody smiled warmly at each of them. "It was my pleasure. We'll have to have another when you and Hamish get back."
