"Welcome back Lieutenant," Caroline smiled. "Have you got everything you need?"

Velin had a number of things a few padds a portable regeneration station and a vulcan puzzle it was designed to enhance control and calm, something he used when he felt the days stresses more than usual. He nodded, "I have." He could already feel... something it was like a pressure in his mind that was building. He already had a headache and if he didnt know better he would think that his implants were malfunctioning. "Lead the way."

So Caroline led him to one of their private rooms. The one with the painting. What better way of convincing the nurses there was nothing sinister with it than having the chief engineer stay in there. "This will be your temporary quarters. I took the liberty of getting one of your team to bring in a portable console unit. Just in case your the kind of man who is likely to get very bored stuck in here with us."

It was unusuall but he almost felt grateful to her for the console. He nodded, "Thank you ... if i can acess engineering systems from here it may allow meto continue to assist the crew... at least at times.

"I also have had communication back from three doctors at Betazed willing to consult and help with this," she brought up the names on the console positioned as close as they could have it without interrupting any other medical systems. "I don't know if you have heard of any of them or have a preference?" she asked.

He shook his head, "I've done no research into betazoid physicians. I had thought my telepathic centers were damaged beyond repair." He started hearing whispers at first. He looked around wondering where they were coming from. "Is your comm system malfunctioning?"

"No," Caroline said. "Why do you ask?"

The whispering grew louder and he looked around, "You don't hear that? It sounds like people talking... alot of them." He shook his head it felt like static in his mind. "its getting louder."

"Oh no," Caroline rationalised. "Its happening faster than we anticipated isn't it?" She hit her comm. badge. "Sickbay to Engineering. We need that suppression field up and running round Sickbay now."

Engineering here, we've been working on it for the last half hour i was told we'd have a bit more time were having a problem attuning the field to block the frequencies you want." Veilin could hear so many voices and there were only more. " He could feel his borg systems trying to fight the panic and emotions flooding over him like a wave.

"Its not really an exact science," Caroline replied. " we would really appreciate it if you can step thing up. Miller out." Turning back to the man in front of him, she said worryingly. "What can I do? Can you focus on me. Concentrate on just the one mind?"

Velin tried to focus tried to narrow down the minds he was sensing but it was so hard everyone had their own thoughts their own agendas, shuttles on the pads taking off helm making sure the launch went smooth engineering trying to raise the forcefield. Engineering... that's where he could focus thats where he could concentrate, their was a problem with the forcefield the generators weren't synchronizing. He blinked and said, "Engineering ... ikiri to engineering. You need to realign the generators to a field frequency of 2183 Gigahertz with a field displacement alignment of 12.8 re initialize the system and engage the generators."

Brex blinked looking up hearing velin, he sounded odd out of focus almost, "Uhh, sir? Hey is he ok there doc?" Velin shook his head, "Just do it!" velin snapped far more than he wanted to. "Yes sir." Within minuets the forcefield snapped into place and it felt like he was cut off from the rest of the ship. However it also felt like he had been slammed into a bulkhead. He slumped against the console trying to just focus on his breathing trying to recall his earliest lessons in how to handle all of the minds.

Caroline wasn't entirely sure what to do. "He will be Engineering. His work knowledge is not compromised." Her brain was immediately flooded with memories of Tolan reading her mind. And before she would wisp those thoughts away she was reliving memories, kissing. Fighting. Their holiday to Risa. That long moonlit night in the Bangoran mountains. Then he was there in sickbay. Her and her chief no way of healing him. She flinched. Would Ikiri be catching all this now inadvertently from her. She flushed and tried to focus on the task at hand pushing those memories away. Making her patient more comfortable was the priority. "Can you focus on just me now?"

Velin breathed heavily for a few minuets it felt so odd, so much more than he remembered. Though in truth he didnt remember much before his assimilation and he tried to think on it even less. But going back digging up those memories, remembering his father and mother.... the boy he had been. He blinked and looked up as Caroline spoke to him again memories or ... no her thoughts flooding through his mind, "I, I think so. It's easier now its not so much but in a way it feels wrong ... i lack the proper words to explain it."

"I'll bet," Caroline agreed. "So is there anything I can do to help? Other than monitor your vitals?"

Velin looked to her and said, "I'm sorry about tolan, i know this isn't easy for you. I know that you would rather not be reminded of him." He sat down on the biobed and said, "i think 20 cc's of aprezoline would be helpful on a more medical note."

He sounded far less borg than she had ever seen him. A wave of sadness at him bringing up his name went through her. "I'm your doctor. When your under my care I do everything in my power to make you comfortable and well again. It doesn't matter what you look like," she felt the need to assert walking to get the hypo spray.

He nodded, "i know you are and your a dedicated one at that. I am sorry if my presence brings you pain all things aside." He could still hear everyone but the everyone was much smaller than before. He closed his eyes trying to drown them out trying to focus on what he should do... "You should also probably update the betazed doctor, because beyond basic exercises i don't know what to do from here."

She pressed the shot of aprezoline to his neck and nodded. "I won't be long."

She walked to the door before turning back. "You are doing amazingly by the way." She couldn't imagine it and the way Tolan had explained telepathy had made it sound like such a strange gift.

He looked to her, "You think so? Im wondering myself." He sat down trying to collect himself.
